Phuket residents are urging police intervention following a chaotic fight involving three foreign men on Bangla Road. Captured on video by local Somnuck Chanagune, the altercation, which occurred in the early hours of April 7, was shared on Facebook, drawing widespread attention.

The video shows the men in a physical tussle, while others attempted to break them apart. Bystanders fueled the commotion by egging on the fighters. The scene unfolded in front of Somnuck’s car, blocking his way until the men were eventually separated.

Locals, interviewed by Channel 7, voiced their frustrations, arguing that such incidents tarnish Thailand’s tourism reputation. Business operators and motorcycle taxi drivers expressed concerns over recurrent disruptions caused by intoxicated tourists, typically taking place in the early morning.

One taxi driver noted that this isn’t an isolated incident, as similar disturbances frequently occur, disrupting the morning routines of both foreign and local tourists.

Residents also raised questions about the adequacy of screening for foreign visitors, suggesting that the current influx is more problematic than beneficial economically. They insist on stricter measures to maintain peace and safeguard the island’s tourist-friendly image.

The call for police action highlights a community's desire for a more harmonious co-existence with tourists, emphasising the importance of addressing behavioural issues to preserve Phuket’s allure, reported The Thaiger.

In a very busy are there will always be some fighting, it's just human nature.

If they really want to get rid of it completely they know what they need to do - shut it all down, close the airport and return peace to the people, of course they will have no jobs so they will need to leave and work elsewhere - but it will be very quiet, all the time. Problem solved.

Why don't tourists just STAY HOME and brawl in their Home Countries?

Would this not save them much time and money?

Why go on holiday to brawl....anyway?

Seems to obviate the advantage of holiday making....

Brawls are only for netizens.... Foreigners are not allowed to do so... Thais are always behaving decently, never make problems, never loose their temper, and never fight( surely not man against man but always many against one). But foreigners that are the culprits all over Thailand..

as an example:

And again turn it over to the Thais. Where did it stand that Thais don´t fight?

Thai thinking 101 ......

I can see it now ...  A new TM6 card on arrival  :

please X the correct box -

( )   Do you intend to drink alcohol in Thailand

( )   Do you intend to get intoxicated in Thailand

( )   Do you intend to start fighting when intoxicated

IO to complete -  ( )  Pass    ( )  Fail

That is not the point.. The point is that everything foreigners do is highlighted, while the netizens are same or even worse as there are more Thais than foreigners in this country... So why only highlight all accidents, problems with foreigners.

They would not be tourists if they stayed at home!

Got to love the quoting of local taxi drivers complaining. They are part of the problem.

People have been brawling on Bangla for decades.  it's the demographic of the people who go there. It isn't a classy strip.

Given the choice, would these people prefer to have 100% sober customers, maybe who don't tip, count every penny and are more difficult to fleece, or what they have here... and are complaining about?

Is this a way of commenting on the 60-day visa exempt?

As I have said before, in my opinion, those who are here for 2 weeks are more likely to behave badly than those who are here for 5-8 weeks.

Just my opinion.

Start reading Thai language news, plenty of the reports that you're looking for there.

I don't need to read that news.. I know stories from my friends, and neighbours that are far worse than is written on internet... and they are not fake but reality, but Thai news only tells you what is convenient and looks normal without investigation.. But even with foreigners it is only a part of the story.. Never get the whole issue

Tell this to TAT and the Government.. They will be happy with posts like this.. and it seems that you don't understand how important tourism is Thailand...and believe me Thai people like to argue too... many times we have read that taxi drivers got problems because they overcharged or wanted more money from foreigners.. Never hear this from Thais.. Do you believe that foreigners accept that they are being scammed or treated unfairly?? In Thailand people have to shut their mouth as that is the culture... you can't say anything, because  he is policeman, higher ranked, friend, or knows people  or you are being threated because you say something. But foreigners are used to say what they don't like and Thais have very long toes and start to argue and like you say.. why do you come here, stay away, go back to your country.... That is very welcoming for people who Thailand need
