Things that Pxxx you off when shopping

Featured Replies

The other day (planning ahead), I thought of a nice stew topped with Dumplings for a change. In Pattaya, we are spoilt for choice of shops. So on my next shop, I went to Friendship and looked for Self-Raising Flour. They didn't have any, I know they used to. So onto the internet. Villa has it. The following day I called into Best to buy my wine and check their flour. Nope, so on to  Villa. Guess what, they didn't have it either. Back on the net, I checked Tops as I had to go to Tuk.com. Yes, they do stock it. Liars.

So this morning, as I was going to 3BB on Thepprasit I checked the net again for Lotus's. Yes, and they stock 3 different makes.  Wow. I thought they must have at least one. Wrong again. I didn't think I could get angry over a stupid thing like Self Raising Flour!

Before anybody adds a comment. I know I can make it myself but over the years I have always bought it.

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

or

100g of all-purpose flour

5g of baking powder

I personally don't add any salt.

Either sift it all together or just stir it for a bit.

And that's Self-raising Flour, enjoy.

Well that didn't work did it.

Don't you need suet for making dumplings?

I took some with me on my last trip especially for making dumplings, but it kind of melted in the packet and had to chucked away.

I even took baking powder as well in case I couldn't find self raising flour.

I like Lotus, they have revamped the fresh produce area Sukhumvit, Pattaya , but they are very lax on pricing goods up, same as the smaller lotus Fresh shop near me

Op you were at Tuk com.

You could have probably got some in Friendship super market, a few doors up the road.

Forget the big stores and look for a specialist baking supplies shop. Even our small town has one and they have absolutely everything.

Failing that just order on Lazada and put up with the postal fee.

Ear lickers grind my gears, inches away, need to be where you are don’t they, pandemic level

We find the service in Foodland stores in Bangkok to be excellent, The Foodland staff are very helpful and very polite, and the stores have a wide range of products, many of them up-market brands.

Just use plain flour and crunch up a Viagra pill in it, that should do the trick.
