I remember a band called ZZ Top ...

Yeah, everybody in the band had a long beard, except for the guy whose last name was Beard. Sort of ironic if you think about it. Alanis, I've got another verse for you.

Saw ZZ top 3 or 4 times. Great show.

Shouldn't this be in the 'gay forum' and titled ...

... 'Are you attracted to clean shaven or bearded lovers' ...

In which case, remove my photo, as my Inbox is already full with unsolicited offers to meet up.  Come on fellas, I'm married, and don't cheat on the Mrs ... 😎

When I moved to New York back in the '80s I had one of those ridiculous beards and I met a very attractive woman who I became good friends with. She looked at me one day and she said are you ever planning on getting laid here or do you just want to be a celibate? I said why would you ask me something like that, and she said well with that ridiculous thing on your face you never going to get any action. I shaved the next day and the action was impressive.

I met an asian girl back home. she couldn't understand the trend. she said it made men look like lumberjacks.

regarding zz top, it helped them establish "a look".

it's like some famous guys might not have been so famous if they weren't so fat. it was part of their charm. like John Candy.

It seems to be getting almost impossible now to see a guy, even good looking ones, without facial hair. Do these guys really thing it makes them look attractive?

No, they are not looking attractive but following an idiotic mainstream published in the past by some lazy "men😂" who could not have a clean shave caused by skin irritation probably.

And like lemmings hordes are following. It's fashion 😱

As we are in Thailand

Thai men can't grow beards like we can. Western genes are more conducive to growing beards. Thai guys would if they could, many only shave 1 or 2 times a month to remove the odd whiskers or light fluff

I have also started wearing a "week-old" beard. If you look at all the male (and trans male) movie stars, you'll see that this type of beard is very popular now. And it's a lot better than tattoos.

Huh? I've had one for the last 50ish years.....

I don't see your problem with someone having one.....

I've never had the unruly ZZ Top type - and never would....

I was in my 40's here.....

But you can cover up most tattoos with clothing, but not a silly weak old beard. 555

I prefer natural hairy ladies.

I don't, I require they shave. A bit politically incorrect, but I hope it won't hurt my chances with BLMFem.

Yes, I have a beard, but then again, I did come from Oregon, where real men worked in the woods or at sea commercial fishing. The ones that shaved sold insurance, or waited tables.

Did you have a beard on any normal years, or do you mean that you shaved every other year on even years?

Thing is these guys who are shaving and waxing same ladies are a ball hair from being Trans

Nonsense.   I'm 100% male and straight.   I shave my chest and genitals because I think loads of body hair is ugly.

My hair has never been very dark, thankfully and I'm not excessively hairy. I have an aesthetically pleasing amount of lower arm hair and leg hair, but no back hair and minimal chest hair.

My pubes are starting to go grey which is gross and another very good reason to get rid of it.

Anything that makes me look old is bad.   Looking young, slim and fit for as long as possible should be everyone's goal.

Even if you are too old to attract attractive women, why not have some self respect a maintain your appearance anyway.  Yet so man men clearly don't care that they don't look good.

I see fat old men everywhere who don't even groom their eyebrows, nose hair and ear hair!

I don’t mind the facial hair that much. It’s the pony tail and the man bun that make me cringe, especially when old(er) guys try to pull that off. And there are all these ‘barber shops’ now. What’s that about?

Some men like beards and some don't. The same goes for women. Some hate men with facial hair and some love it. Problem is, finding a good woman is the hardest job we have, and you might turn off the right one if she doesn't like facial hair. Each to his own.

Many men use beards to hide facial scars, a baby face,  or a weak chin, as they look better with the hair, so they keep it. Some just look better having a beard. I have a friend who's had a ZZ Top beard for many years, to this day, and his success with women has faltered all along. He has always looked better with a slight goatee or clean shaven, but you couldn't tell him anything.

I shave almost every day, and it's annoying, but my girlfriend here likes me clean shaven, although one time I grew a little fuzz and she was okay with it, at least for a few days. Beards have come a long way and I see more men with beards than every before, with many styles, but who's to know how well they might do if they didn't grow one?

I've also been with women who thought Nicolas Cage was handsome, and some like the Rock, although it's mainly because they see people on TV, and to the young thinking mind, people are more attractive if they're on TV. There was a time when it was mostly the better looking people who made it on TV, but since then anyone can be on TV or in movies, and there will always be the hero worshipers who look at them as better, the Kardashians being an example.

I think, no I know they don't care about being attractive: this is Pattaya: no need to look attractive as long as your wallet is full.

I'm 81 - had beard since I was 18 (not common in 1961 and got a lot of Baa s and confrontations then)  - never been shaved off except at the request of a Spanish friend when I visited him in 1969 (During Franco's reign a beard = anarchist (although I think maybe I am a bit of one)  I reduced it to a goatee).

Don't expect to lose it before the the flames get me!

Men with facial hair wax their bits like a lady does ?

Defo pillow biters.

Plenty of men shave or use a delap cream to remove all pubic and under arm hair every few days. Delap cream takes 5 minutes, all done. Why not.

(delap - delipatory, available in pharmacies world wide, Veet, Nair.)

Far too much detail, certainly i have no interest in that, you need to talk to a gay man with that level of detail
