He is intentionally destroying the value of the dollar, which effects my life directly. I don't know yet if his "reforms" will mean I need to go to Manila in person for any SSA problems, the Form 7162 this year will be sabotaged, it will soon take months to get a new passport, or he will jiggle with the SSA Cola to cheat me out of more money. But, yea, I hate his fast food stuffing guts.

Given the recent pope photo issue ... another obvious reason.

He's very unconventional and strange.

Maybe the most eccentric president ever.

People do not feel comfortable with someone acting eccentric in a position of power.

50% of the nation and much of the world feels perfectly comfortable.

Eccentric is good. I like eccentric.

What they don't feel comfortable with is a president that is in decline and is certifiably derelict of mind that his staff starts and manages wars, drives a nation to the brink of economic catastrophe. Divisively divides the nation based on fictions.

However, I'm just at a loss at the level of angst, unease, dread, suspicion, worry, concern, disgust, horror, hostility, and hatred that people have for him.

Anyway, we may be underestimating how serious the problem is.

There are still some folks out there claiming the dam will burst and the US will erupt into chaos as the divisiveness is at an all-time high. And Trump is a "provocateur" adding fuel to the fire.

For what it's worth Marjorie Taylor Green is perhaps not the most educated and well thought through person in Congress. She's definitely a cowgirl. Nevertheless, she does well in representing her constituency and holding Trump's feet to the fire. She's a true populist and I must say that I love populists.

Trump is a provocateur really? This is more insanity. You really ought to see a psychiatrist champ.

A number of people have firebombed facilities because a guy decides to assist in sorting government out.

You think Trump is somehow to blame.

You're absolutely lost

The simple answer is the democrat backing mainstream media have brainwashed everyone into hating him.

They , edit, misreport or flat out lie about him 24/7, 92% of coverage of Trump is negative.

The Russia hoax, fine people, inject bleach, bloodbath, Mexicans are rapists.... the list of lies goes on but the brainwashed don't even bother to check... but then say his supporters are in a cult.

I have seen a friend literally lose his shi, and start frothing at the mouth during a conversation about boxing, when  someone mentioned that trump put on fights in the 80's & 90's. The acronym that can't be written is a mental condition and should be recognised as one,

Another respected comment thanks!

Totally agree.

My wife became friends with a Norway guys wife!

The guy had a Birthday party & we were invited . I really didn’t know much about him other than a very brief introduction and small conversation prior to the invitation which revealed he was adamant on never returning to his country again. Why I asked! The  Norway Guy said,The Norway Government immigration system is letting in migrants from everywhere .

The Bd party was the weekend following  the recent USA election results back in November 2024.

I sat down at a table with acquaintances from the UK.

After a while alcohol was starting to take over the conversation and politics came up.

I would think anybody who is against

the globalist efforts at allowing mass

immigration from  disputed and undesirable countries would have a common ground until the birthday boy

said he wished the July assassin didn’t miss.

I leaned over to the guy next to me and said Wtf .His opinion was there’s a lot of Socialist here.

I think its much deeper . Deranged.

Can socialism really make you hate a  Capitalist so much , that you want to

kill a leader who loves traditional values, such as having migrants come who assimilate to your countrys culture.

I won’t be going to Bday boys parties anymore! People who are comfortable with assassination are sick!

He is definitely trying some new ideas and new ways of doing things. Not the same old ways of every other president.  On the tariffs and other economic things he has done I suggest giving him 6-12 months to see if they are working.  Factories and new jobs can't be made in a few months.  Elon Musk has opened the world's eyes showing how much corruption, theft, stupidity, and laziness can be easily found in most all branches of the US govt.  Sure, the media and people that were profiting from this are doing everything they can to make him look bad.  If half or more of his ideas work he will go down and one of the greatest recent presidents.  Give him time.    IMHO

See, all of you have already forgotten the abortion that lasted 12,00 days. You're certainly willing to dismiss it all and do so with regularity on this forum

But everyday we all live with the tragedy of the Biden administration. Even in Thailand we suffer with the inflation that hit the US dollar as well as driving up prices in Thailand anywhere between 10 and 30%

You all supported it just like you supported covid. You are dead wrong then and you're dead wrong now. But let's just overlook it all.

No, sorry we're not forgetting any of it

B.S. 🤣

There was inflation everywhere in the world at that time. It was not specific to the U.S.

The U.S. achieved the best economic recovery among comparable countries (G7) post-Covid. 😆

As I post this response, the dollar slipped below 33 baht (32.87 and still dropping). I haven't seen the dollar this low in a LONG time.

I'm old enough to remember that the United States died with John F. Kennedy. It was palpable.

It's been downhill since then, and what is passed off as successive governments have been freak-shows of ever increasing intensity run by megalomaniacs and fools, albeit, megalomaniacs and fools who will undoubted wipe the rest of us off of the face of this planet to maximize their own hubris and lust for power.  In the West, diplomacy is dead.

Although I've been accused of being a MAGA Trump supporter, I'm not. Didn't vote for him, didn't vote for Harris either.
Some of his policies I support; many of his policies I don't support.

However, I'm just at a loss at the level of angst, unease, dread, suspicion, worry, concern, disgust, horror, hostility, and hatred that people have for him.  It's just the uniformity of these emotions between those who can not stop whinging about him that confuses me.  It's like those who are triggered by Trump are part of a Star Trek Borg-Mind hive.  There is so little that is unique about what those who dislike him are saying about him -  It's like they all read from the same script.

I find that fascinating!

Don't get me wrong.  Trump is a narcissistic megalomaniac with god-like delusions of grandeur, but for Pete's sake kids, most of the current crop of world leaders are narcissistic megalomaniac with god-like delusions of grandeur although Trump is beginning to out-trump them all.  Literally, “I’d like to be pope. That would be my number one choice.", and “I run the country and the world.

Everybody wants to rule the world!
-- Tears for Fears

And Trump is convinced he's the ruler of the world.  Freaking Amazing, 'eh?

But realistically, Obama was a narcissistic megalomaniac, Biden was a narcissistic megalomaniac, "Dubya" Bush and is cabinet were narcissistic megalomaniacs, the Clinton's are narcissistic megalomaniacs.  And no doubt, whomever is elected as the US President in 2028 will be a narcissistic megalomaniac.  The third party candidates whom I vote for are not narcissistic megalomaniacs, but they don't get elected either. Go figure?  Anyway, I digress.
Here's the bottom line for me.  Regardless of who is in office, I've never been so triggered as to completely lose my s**t and then spend the next four years consumed on social media or within my social circles being obsessed by whomever was selected to be the POTUS.  Never! So watching it happen - for the second time - is just.....fascinating.

So my terminally triggered Trump hating friends?  What the hell is it that causes you people so much obsession and grief about this guy?  I just don't understand.  Clue me in.

I am not a U.S. citizen, but have closely followed U.S. politics ever since nine eleven, starting with Dubya, Obama - along with Hillary's Benghazi fiasco, Donny Mk1, Sleepy Joe and finally Donny Mk2. I can see what Trump's intentions were/are regarding the likes of the Southern Border, and his predecessor's "Open border policy" and the resultant effects, Sanctuary cities, Doge and cutting out fraud and waste, so I obviously understand Democrat (and obviously some Republican) supporters' views on him; however, it looks like one of the main things he wants to do is for the Fed to lower interest rates - so this means that he doesn't care about the dollar weakening. As for the rest of the U.S. economy, one can only hope it doesn't tank.

If you can't call politicians by their real names, you won't be allowed to post.

Dude - You are over-thinking this wayyyyyyy too much.  My  first post is 100% self-explanatory and explains what I'm thinking and why.  There is no "this is connda's conspiracy to make 'the political personal'."  Don't make this into "placehlder's person conspiracy theory about the OP's post.

Go back to the beginning of the OP, re-read my post.  The questions is straightforward. clear, and succinct.

I'll summarized it again: "For those of you who despise this man, what is it about him that collectively drives you all to the edge of normal, rational sanity," what is triggering you all to the extreme.  Again - I find that fascinating and therefore wrote the Op.  I'd really like to understand.

And if you believe I'm MAGA, I'm not.  That is in the first post of this OP as well.  I'm a old classical liberal, I've voted Democrat most of my life, but like other Democrats I dumped the party due to its woke, progressive radicalism that has nothing to do with the tenets of the Democrat party I grew up in: anti-war, pro-civil rights, a supporter of that ACLU, pro-social-safety-net, pro-capitalism with with regulations and limits in order to rein in predatory capitalism (like we have today).  But then the Democrat party went off the rails.
I've stated this before.   I voted for Jill Stein as my "personal politics" align closer to Stein then any other US presidential candidate on the 2024 ticket. So trust me, I'm in a real political minority in the realm of US politics.

Now, if you want to, go make your own OP and ask real Trump supporting MAGA types what drives them.  Quite a number of respondents have raised that issue, i.e., "What is it that drives MAGA sycophants?"  That's a valid question too, and one that I pointed out way at the beginning of this thread when others brought that question up. And I find that fascinating too.

So placeholder, stop the conspiracy theory about what you think my deep dark ulterior motives are.  There are none.
Go back and read the initial post, read this post - then you have it all.  There is nothing else there.  Don't fabricate motives out of thin air and attempt to attribute them to me.  You just end up looking silly and conspiratorial.

Hey dude

I don't care about your claim that you used to be a liberal. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. All I've got to go on about the nature of your opinions is what you've offered in this forum. And they look pretty right wing to me. You're assertion of neutrality has the same value to me as someone who claims "I don't like Trump but... "yet consistently  defends his policies

And of course your question is a dishonest one. It's much like that famous example When did you stop beating your wife? Your question is based on the   assumption that people who oppose Trump are somehow triggered rather than offering valid critiques of his policies. Or that because of what they say in this  forum about Trump, a forum which you have apparently forgotten is called the political soapbox and not the ladies'sewing circle, therefore this extends into other areas of their lives and means that they are obsessed.

In short, I can see no valid reason to believe your protestations of good faith and plenty of valid reasons not to.

fact check. TRUE

the clowns never had one single issue with their decomposing corrupt figurehead. He was perfect in every way. If you gently tried offerring critique of his catastrophic Afghan abandonment, open border, perverts in school or other things he did to ruin America you would be told by a flock of NPCs that you're in a cult.

Of course 2 minutes after their landslide thumping, it was ALL Trumps fault everything Biden ruined. Dishonesty or low IQ not sure.

Judging by other current threads, Barron does, Melania, if fact there isn't anything these derangement sufferers won't use to attack the Orange leader. They are the lowest of the low.
