They are softer to land on. or act as airbags for the parents in a head on collision.

Yeah, I guess the theory is, they can't replace themselves, but they can replace a kid.

The police nor the highway patrol have ever been particularly concerned with traffic safety. I only see them after the scene of an accident or at a traffic stop. I very rarely ever see anyone pulled o

Mild stuff compared to some of the antics i've seen here in the last 20 years.   They never learn evn when a Family member dies !

If I had been driving behind them I would have been inclined to stop them and at least got to police on the phone giving them directions to what was going on, at the same time trying not to endanger the kid anymore than it already was, I would have had the father nicked,

You should mind your own business.  Remember your a guest in this country.

Safely?  So that they smash their faces into the handlebar area and are then crushed against it by the full-size adult following them into it courtesy of kinetic energy.

The child, without a helmet, clung to the parent’s back as the bike sped down a main road

I've seen a foreigner on soi Buakhou, he takes his kids to school number 8, on his bike, one of his kids was standing on the seat, none wearing helmets.

Maybe the Thai learnt this bad habit from a foreigner.

Great safety tip.

I agree it is not bet but at least you have control of the child if they are in front of you and not relying on them holding on.

I sit my young lad in the shopping basket on the front, just enough space in there for him and my pet poodle.

If I am going long distances I bungy him in.

You are proving that not only Thais live in the land of stupid.

Well I for one prefer it this way. I don't have to drive whilst looking continually over my shoulder.

Yeah it's great for people being safe but what about the other people driving dangerously? Those are the people I want to be looking over their shoulder so they're kept in line.

I think I proved that it went right over your head.

No offense but do you know where the fuel is on a motorbike?

Im hoping the police got the number plate from that bike and prosecute the parents, Im sure in England they would take the kid off the parents for something like that,

If he had fallen off that bike he would have just bounced along the road, Poor little bugger,

If the driver was stopped in NZ or Aussie the bike would be impounded and the parents would be fined and probably have to attend some sort of counselling or lose their kids

Maybe its safer this way, so in case of an accident with a car the kid just fly away instead of being squeezed in between the parent and the bike handle and the car that caused the accident.
