I just don't understand why so many blokes think violence of any kind is acceptable.  It looks and sounds like the bar owner didn't like being told he might get f'd up by the guy 'if you want to

  • Another idiot.

Well,

Mr. Raf said he just wanted a memento. The bar owner gave him one—stitched and swelling.

Got what he deserved.

Firstly filming in a bar, then saying he wasn't going to leave and then threatening to F up the owner. What did he expect?

Rules for tourists in Thailand:

#5 Never argue with a bar owner

I didn't say Thailand is more dangerous than the U.S.  It isn't.  But Thailand is a bad place for intrusive vloggers because people will sometimes take action when provoked.  Do you remember this idiot?

There are other examples as well.  Please note I used the word "intrusive."  Vloggers who don't create a deliberate confrontation run little risk in Thailand when filming in the street.

Yes, that little Bitch learnt his lesson real quick.

Unless you are a Thai security guard or Thai motorbike guy....because they do not care...about kicking Farang's ass.

6 months jail 100,000b fine for bar owner

Bar Owner should have called the cops...he forgot that he is not in the UK.  Now, the cops have extra money to give to their Mia Nois.....55555.

I believe any bar owner has the right to deny filming in their business. I think any business, like a restaurant or even a retail store, has that right. I do not believe, however, that the owner has the right to assault someone breaking the rules of his business. They certainly do have the right to remove them, but not assault them.

Maybe the bar owner didn't have the proper licenses to run his bar and he was afraid to be filmed.

Am I the only one that notices that most of these issues are in the early morning hours, like 3 am.  Still have to wonder when we are going to hear the close at 2 rule come into affect.

Seems that most of these guys are highly intoxicated, making them either belligerent a-holes or easy pickings.

As to filming in a bar, sorry but that is a no-no here and well known as a no-no.

You do it you get caught yu apologise put your phone away and maybe tip the bar LOL

Nothing good happens after midnight anywhere in the world. In Pattaya after 10pm. After dark on Beach Road. 🤣

He insisted on pursuing legal action against his attacker.

Police are currently reviewing the video footage, gathering witness testimony and working to locate the bar owner for questioning. An investigation is ongoing.

It would take a constant stream of little brown envelopes to inch the process towards an eventual disappointment. This is one of those TIT moments. The dude should take his licks and move on 🥺

2 foreigners have a small altercation and there are 130 posts about it. Amazing what some people deem important.🤨

Would have thought he would have asked first to film

A lot of people don't like getting filmed especially if they are somewhere where they should not be 😱

Why is it the majority of commentators advocate violence?

They are assuming ALL the people who suffer at the hads of bully gangs are ass holes or loud mouth drunks!

Unless you where actually there and witnessed any of the occurrences don't assume as assumptions are generally wrong,

This situation could have and should have been handled differently

I generally find a soft spoken polite lady will defuse any volatile situation

By all accounts they are a bit hard to find among the tsunami of honking, messed up and angry ladyboys that seem to be a necessary addition to most bars these days.

It is forbidden to film inside the vast majority of gogo type establishments. I don't know whether or not this guy would have known that, but certainly a polite "sir please put your camera away" would have sufficed. But then again this is Pattaya, it's not a polite town and it's probably the roughest and most crime and goon infested place in all of Thailand.

If he hadn't done what he was asked not to do, he wouldn't have been smacked. Simply algebra. And saying "hey, I didn't film and faces" doesn't means squat.

On Beach Road they have installed much better lighting. But I agree with you in that I always used to avoid walking on the beach side of Beach Road after dark it had been an issue since my first visit in 1985. Lot's of unwanted dangers/hassle lurking in the darkness.

How odd.....I was just about to stick my neck and say no way he got punched just for taking a quick video around the bar.

You'd be correct.  He got punched for apparently refusing to stop and arguing with the owner of the private establishment.

Mr. Raf said the foreign bar owner approached him aggressively, demanding he stop recording. Despite explaining that he had not captured anyone’s face and had no ill intent, a heated argument ensued.

Put the phone away, say "sorry, chief", finish your beer, pay your tab and leave.

Some people only learn by these actions, they need to be taught a lesson.

A slap on the wrist is not working, society is breeding too many disrespectful morons.

Hopefully the guy shows more respect next time.

Can't take guys with tattoos like his seriously.

At least he doesn't have them on his hands, face or neck. What he has is easily coverable.

He wasn't working alone. His friend, Rif, got away.

If the guy was just filming, then there wouldn’t be a heated argument. He would just stop when asked to do so.

The video shows the filming started it, then the Mr RAF engaged in confrontation when asked to stop. One thing led to another and Mr RAF took one to the face.

som nom na.

For those who can't watch the video with sound, it's pretty much this: the camera guy enters the bar after it was closed in a very obnoxious and confrontational way saying he will stay there all night and doesn't give a f...

Bar owner introduces himself then the cameraman says it was a joke then proceeds to threaten.

The bar owner dealt with the issue swiftly and efficiently, one slap (not punch) then proceeded to remove the idiot from the premises. No unnecessary violence, no beating after the idiot was down. Imo this is how it should be.

Definitely a FAFO case, that was the slap his parents should've delivered years ago.

It's your own fault, why so whiny now? A bar, restaurant, or food court is not a public place and requires the owner's permission to take photographs or film...simple as that! It's not just Thai law, but international law as well.

working to locate the bar owner

What, he's gone into hiding - maybe fled the country? I would suggest looking in the bar but that's just me

There’s far too many of these tosser’s wandering about all the “hotspots” in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket, sometimes filming discreetly or blatantly in your face with the intention catching footage of sexy ladies to post on their YouTube sites.
It’s a blatant lack of respect shown to the working girls, or the punters.
I once challenged an individual who started filming a bar in Patpong and his response was he had every right to do it and he was for his own personal use. He couldn’t get his head round being told it was an invasion of people’s privacy.

After some of the ladies complained to their boss he was escorted out of the Patpong area by some bouncers and apparently his camera had an accident.

Not just that, but a lot of these girls have told their family they are waiting tables in a restaurant.  Last thing they need is mama to see them in a bar
