People being a bit harsh on the bloke. He's in a wheelchair, he's a mute and perhaps not the full quid. Not sure if he landed in Thailand with a carer or not.

Maybe had a few guinesses and became far more vulnerable than 99% of us. The money stolen was probably most of his budget here so now left with nothing and on a disability pension.

Wanted to enjoy himself in Patts like most do when they come on holiday, only difference is this guy can't stick up for himself like we can.

It's a low act by the three of them, hope they get caught. But sounds like he's not staying in a decent hotel if no ID was collected. I also hope he learns from this.

He is a TURIST, he came to visit Temples

I'm not sure if a mute in a wheelchair is wise to be inviting multiple prostitutes into his hotel room, in any town in any country. In this case the money that was taken approximates to the amount he would likely have paid them for services rendered. Not good, but not a disaster.

I don't know why people don't read the story, an id was taken by the hotel staff, and the cops will probably catch them.

Regarding having the equivalent of less than $400 stolen, if that's how much money he came to Thailand with, I think the authorities should help him out with the next flight back home.

And prior to coming, if he hasn't heard or read ANY of the stories about taking multiple women to your room, having anything to do with ladyboys, and/or leaving your valuables out in the open while going for a shower, this guy does not belong in Thailand, or anywhere else that he doesn't research, prior to boarding the airplane!

Some mates of mine were drugged and robbed of everything at the nana hotel before security was tightened

The country maybe Buddhist, but I doubt the whole populace is...🤔

Not 100% but...

Approximately 95% of the population in Thailand adheres to Theravada Buddhism.

Perfect Pattaya.

I am sure this crime will be widely reported in the UK press.

So having tattoo's makes you guilty!?! So by your logic I must be guilty and upto no good. I have 5 tattoo's, I also am well educated (2 degrees), profesional and a director but hay ho!!! Oh I'm just as comfortable in a pub full of bikers or a hi So restaurant or in business negotiation. Never judge a book by its cover. What happened to this man is disgustingly wrong regardless of what his intentions were or if he was duped into letting them into his room. There could have been many guises used to get him into a vulnerable position.

“who allegedly deceived him into returning to his hotel room with them,”

I doubt there was much deception involved in terms of returning to his hotel room. Pretty sure he was happy about having 3 prostitutes for the night.

i feel sorry for him, but the risks involved in what he did are pretty high. Even in a family friendly resort like Pattaya.

The question is did this happen after he had a good time. Because 12k b., amount he lost, is not out of the ballpark for a threesome.

A new low for Thailand.

He was a target and it didn't take long for the dregs to find him.

I hope the police catch them, no doubt the money will be gone, surely the hotel would have some kind of CCTV in the reception area?

Poor guy but I have to ask why as an invalide was he out so late especially with his condition and surely I would of thought that where he was staying would have security cameras It appears that Pattaya is becoming the sewer of Thailand when it comes to foreigners being attacked or robbed.

Response to a 61 year old guy in a wheelchair took 3 prostitutes (1 being a tranny) back to his room for a group session and then got robbed?

Exactly. This whole emotional "disabled victim" "shocked of the betrayal of his trust" is squeezing it hard. He's obviously able enough to travel overseas and roam around looking for hookers. Made a poor choice taking home 3 street hookers (I assume) at once - especially one being a ladyboy - when in a group they encourage each other to take advantage and treat stealing like it's a game, seen it happen.

Probably during. One or two keep him occupied while the third reaches for valuables.

The guy is remarkably stupid. His intentions were obviously to watch or have sex with the individuals in his hotel room. Obviously some kinky fantasy that’s being playing around in his mind. It appears his imagination got carried away and never considered being disabled, or mute, might have implications of his gratification. To trust individuals you picked in the street is never gonna end well.
Now he’s paid the price, learnt a valuable lesson about Thai hookers and humiliated himself and become a laughing stock on the worlds stage. Not the happy ending he expected!

I'm not sure Pattaya was the best destination for him

Couldn' agree more. Mute, reliant on a motorized wheelchair, goes out drinking in a dubious city, approached by 2 women at 12 am for a good time .... what could go wrong? Lesson learnt? I doubt it. He complains to the police that he placed his trust in them and is completely devastated. Typical response from someone who grew up in a nanny state. 61 years old and not man enough to take responsibility for his actions, and admit he made a mistake. Could have been a lot worse if he was in a Souith American country where he could have been knifed or worse. Okay all you "this-would-never-happen-back-home" people, you can now press the "red thumbs down" button
