Didn't this all kick off again with a senior Thai military man singing the Thai national anthem in the Temple "Cambodia"? Or am I mistaken? If I'm correct then this incident was the cause of death both Thai and Cambodian.

Temple Cambodia ?

After erection paper it with Baht bank notes and it will become impregnable 🤔

I've tried that and mine becomes irresistible. 😁

First they will have to agree on where the border goes, or that will trigger another war.

Now the ugly sleepy toad lost the plot completely. Lock him up and throw away the keys ..... for good. This "man" is an insult to the entire Thai population ....... what an imbecile 😞

It doesn’t seem like they understand the problem.

The problem isn’t people crossing the border. The problem is differing views on WHERE the border actually is. So where would you build the wall?

Thailand is considering building concrete walls along its border with Cambodia to prevent future cross-border intrusions. Palang Pracharath leader Prawit Wongsuwan, a former deputy prime minister and defence minister, presented this proposal. The plan targets disputed areas where recent military clashes have sparked concern.

The proposed walls would span contentious regions in Thailand's northeastern and eastern provinces, including Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket, Surin, Buriram, Sakaeo, Chanthaburi, and Trat.

These provinces have witnessed recent clashes over the past five days between Thai and Cambodian forces, primarily in Sisaket's Kantharalak district and Surin's Panom Dongrak district, near Cambodia's Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey.

The recent skirmishes resulted in the tragic loss of 12 Thai soldiers, with some casualties occurring even after a ceasefire agreement was reached, reported Thai Newsroom.

Additionally, approximately 138,000 Thai civilians have been displaced from affected areas and are yet to return home due to safety concerns, despite the ceasefire remaining fragile.

People view the concrete wall proposal as a peaceful, long-term solution to enhance security and stability along the border. While it aims to prevent further escalation, the situation remains delicate, with the potential for renewed conflicts hovering over the region.

The Thai government continues to assess the effectiveness and implications of such a structure in maintaining peace and security.

Will Cambodia invite N/Korean engineers to build secret tunnel for future war?

Just like NK dug around their DMZ at the 38th Pararell?

IMO the current "problem" stems from the lenient border enforcement for Cambodians (and Thais). I am not sure if a wall is needed, but Cambodians should have to clear immigration before entering Thailand, anyone caught bypassing the normal channel would be processed according to Thai law. Border Casinos/Brothels on the Cambodian need to be put out of business.  Border mafias exist and do well they are probably one of the root causes. (I am living within 10Km of the border.

I disagree that the "neighbourly" border immigration agreements that Thailand has with people from Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Myanmar and vice versa, has caused anything. Local businesses, farmers and other traders being given regional access for limited amounts of time is good for all parties concerned.

Unlike you, why would they waste their time?

Just when I thought there couldn't be anything sillier than submarines, Thai officials continue to surprise me.

Bad for nature. Disrupt natural habitats, fragment ecosystems, and impede animal movement.

If they are smart enough not waste their time, wouldn't attack Thailand in the first place.

And how many shares in Siam Cement does he own....

Probably an insignificant number. As a reminder, the King of Thailand owns 33.64% of the company shares and is the largest shareholder. Other major shareholders are;

Social Security Office of Thailand 5.529 %

Randery Burahmaken Co. Ltd. 1.284 %

MFC Asset Management Public Co., Ltd. (Investment Management) 1.257 %

The Siam Cement Foundation 1.112 %

Prateep Tangmatitham  1.008 %฿

BBL Asset Management Co., Ltd  .6856 %

Nai Hang Rong Poon Phunueng Foundation .6373 %

Kasikorn Asset Management Co., Ltd. .3627 %

SCB Asset Management Co., Ltd. .2421 %

The balance of shares are held by a diverse group of shareholders with declining values. It is unlikely that any government minister is going to make a large capital gain on shares by directing business to the company for the simple reason that the   shares likely held are few.

Indeed... keep everyone out... Thailand only for Thais.. nobody or anything out or in...hehehehehehehe.. Laos, Myanmar and Cambodian girls are not allowed anything to do anyway, as all that kind of professions are for Thais only... Only what a Thai can't do is allowed and so nothing is left for others

You think?? It is good to preserve the culture and habitat of the netizens, as nothing can disrupt them anymore... and ecosystems  and animal n.. you think Thailand cares about it?? If it is money ok, but nothing else no human rights either

some cheap 2nd hand wall left over to rust by Bidon is available to Thailand

Exactly. Prawit and his army buddies would place it where THEIR maps say is the border. The whole idea is a non-starter from an atrophied brain.

Which makes the meeting on August 4th totally pointless . Thailand will not concede any land and the cause of the conflict will remain and then what will happen ? The ball is in the Cambodian court and any further action from Cambodia may result in a war . Unless Cambodia gets military aid from its allies it would lose a war with Thailand .

The only thing you will stop is the thais crossing like cambodians  to do business or shopping. They know where to cross and return that day.The other way is for workers and they will cross the legal points ands thais who want to gamble in poi pet will still pay 20 baht to cross and gamble

On my first visit ever to Khok Salaeng in Phanom Dong Rak in June 2012 - to meet the family - my b/f took me on the back of his motorbike (another first for me - so educational!) to a spot somewhere west of the farm - may have been in Buriram - where we got off the m/bike, strolled to a Thai Immigration post where I was ignored (didn't exist) & b/f handed in his p/p. We then strolled across the frontier and 100m on to a Cambodian market where we strolled around for 30 minutes, then returned to same in reverse at the Thai post. Not a Cambodian official to be seen in any direction ...
