A Chinese tourist has reported being robbed of 8,000 baht after spending the night with a woman he met outside a Pattaya beer bar.

Mr He Jiangpeng, 38, filed a complaint with Pol Sub Lt Kittipong Thaelangkan of Pattaya City Police Station on the evening of 6 August, stating that he had brought a woman back to his hotel room after meeting her outside a bar in the side alley off Soi 6, Pattaya Beach Road.

Speaking through a translator, Mr He told police that he had struck up a conversation with the woman and after hitting it off, the pair decided to continue the evening together before heading back to his rented room in a unnamed beachside accommodation.

He said he did awake until the next evening to find the woman gone and only realised the theft had occurred when he checked his belongings and discovered 8,000 baht in cash was missing. He said he strongly suspected the woman he had spent the night with had taken the money before leaving without saying goodbye.

Police have launched an investigation. Pol Sub Lt Kittipong confirmed that Mr He had been interviewed in detail and the case had been passed to Pattaya Police Chief Pol Col Anek Srathongyu. Investigators have been assigned to track down the woman involved to question her and ensure all parties receive fair treatment.

Is 8000 baht worth having your face in the news?

Maybe he'd agreed to 8,000 long-time?  After all, it's less than £200!

Money missing and he accused the girl but with no proof....for 8000 baht and all the news and inconvenience.

What kind of hotel don't demand a copy of the lady?

In my regular hotel in Bangkok the girls always have to give the id.Even friends i know for years have to provide an id.And when they leave rhe reception always contact me and ask if im missing something.

If a lady work in a bar the manager know who she is makes it easy to track her down.

Its a big risk to take a girl from the streets.

Not a hotel i would stay in.And i keep my values in a safe thats not removable.

Some hotels have the safety boxes in the reception and have 2 keys for unlock it.1 key for urself and the other for the deskworker.

He probably thought she really liked him and was happy to spend the night with him. In his room she probably asked for payment upfront, he refused, she said never mind just joking, here have THIS DRINK. Looks like the penny hasn’t dropped yet!

Maybe he thought she/he did not expect payment for services rendered.

"in the side alley off soi 6" can only mean one thing 555

Some ladies do charge 8,000 baht for a night's service – perhaps he forgot to ask about her service-price – some ladies even charge more, some even much more; so in way 8,000 baht is a modest price for an amazing Thailand experience...:whistling:

And she didn't say 'goodbye'?  🙄

Maybe a brief wave as she exited the door

Mr He Jiangpeng, 38, never listened to a word his dear, wise old mother told him, and now look where it got him!  His mother never told him he had to pay for it.

yes all the regular hotels in Pattaya used to do that years ago, flipper house, flipper lodge, eastiny place (now closed).  But there are so many guest houses that have their own entrance and there is no ID check or such staff at all hours

I guess the translator was helping at the police station rather than moonlighting on an alley off soi 6?
