JD Vance barred from English pub as staff mutinies over visit

Featured Replies

JD Vance was barred from a British pub after furious staff threatened to walk out if its management told them to serve the vice president.

The mutiny was even more stinging for Vance as former Vice President Kamala Harris dined at the same venue just weeks earlier during a pre-wedding celebration for Steve Jobs' daughter Eve.

Vance's hostile reception extended beyond the pub walls. Local residents staged a colourful "Dance Against Vance" protest Tuesday, brandishing placards calling him a "war criminal" alongside mocking memes of the vice president.

Poor old JD, he wasn't too popular in Greenland either. He should stay in the USA, going for long walks in the midday sun in Death Valley.

Apparently the locals were miffed because Vance's Secret Service detail had allegedly demanded social media information from area residents, though Thames Valley Police denied these claims, stating: "Residents were under no obligation to answer any questions and were not asked about social media."

Steve Akers, deputy mayor of the Cotswolds town Chipping Norton, captured the community's sentiment: "We've had a curtailment of our freedoms here, just by his mere presence."

Is there a fixed date already for Trump's visit to the UK, as I look forward how that one goes.

I guess it will be worse than Vance's reception

The day the world lost what little respect they had left for the current American 'leadership', and everyone who voted for them.

He said thank you in his own way.

No named sources. No quotes from the management or staff of the establishment. And every media source reporting it is quoting other media sources that he was "reportedly" turned away or "according to reports".

Probably Chinese whispers.  Send three and fourpence, I'm going to a dance.

Anyway, I just made a booking for Mr. A Hitler at 12:00 on 21 August on the restaurants' website. Awaiting the media response imminently.  :coffee1:

I have never heard anyone denigrate England.  And tariffs between the two countries existed long before the current efforts to reset trade.

2. Tariffs were low on both sides (with a few exceptions), and not the outcome of bullying.

So trade negotiations are bullying?  Wow.   The US has allowed itself to be treated like a cash cow for over 30 years.  We have had open markets while facing stiff tariffs in foreign markets.  Reality is we are no longer wealthy enough to do that and this issue is a reset to a fairer trade scenario.   We are over $32 TRILLION dollars in debt and can not shrug off unbalanced trade any longer.

I followed your link and am curious which of these 6 issues in that article aren't true?  They aren't insults if they are true.  Seems some want to take comments out of context or feign outrage when they hear something they don't like and it doesn't matter if it is true.

Hey, I am NOT A MAGA.  Show me where any of those statements specifically denigrated the nation of Great Britain and OK some folks can get annoyed.  Enough to ban him from a pub?  Still lame ass retard level cancel culture.  And I would say that if Obama had been banned or Clinton.

JD Vance attacks Europe over free speech and migration - BBC News https://share.google/QOERFpftOrCBF0jPR

In addition he attacked Europe's military ignoring the fact some European nations lost men helping the US after 9/11.

That's a fairy tale for the gullible. The U.S. was as protectionist as UK or the EU, if not more. Is there a buy European Act or a buy British act?

Perhaps a missed opportunity.

Blackadder, ‘mud for coffee’ comes to mind, or at least something along those lines.

I would have just peed in his beer. (And posted pics after he had drank it). He couldn't tell after drinking the American piss they call beer anyway.

Pretty funny. They might be woke types, but good on them after the rubbish he was spouting about the UK. I think he was visiting the Cotswolds. That area is stunning, not far from my neck of the woods, and a shame it’s recently been discovered by the masses. Kind of like hordes of belligerent Russians piling into Maya Bay, albeit sans beach and tropicalness.

I refer to him as <deleted> Face. No disrespect intended

Regardless of your view about the US government etc, barring the Vice-President of the most powerful country in the world is about as dumb as it goes!  Somehow I don't think the UK will be on his Christmas card list, and with the power that the USA wields in the world, the future for USA-UK relationships is probably going south....

Thanks for pointing out the epitome of the true nature of the Marxist leftist immature fascist intolerance propagated by the media’s induced psychosis.

That's ok. Yale law grad doesn't need to drink in working class English pub. I'm sure he won't forget it when it comes time for negotiations between countries.

I guess the punters inside ok with the invasion of their nation as well.

UK has fallen so far, so fast it basically ranks with East Europe.

... except US has friends in E Europe

No, that would be the fat, doughy-faced Kier Stammah. The pure embodiment of a worthless, feckless politician.

That's exactly NOT the behavior we need from our leaders!

We need them to be negotiating 'in our best interest,' and NOT in their need for pay-back.  Revenge isn't the best political strategy. It's school-yard tactics at best, and basically, the policy that the entire White House administration has been following!

Neither does the United States of America.

At least, not one that's being followed.
