My place is literally on the waterfront, the biggest tourist area in Toronto. It is also right next to the Porter waterfront airport so it is very safe at least. During the job, I was more scared of getting my poor exposed "behind" bitten by a snake near the bush, then I was of being seen. 💩

August 29, 2025Aug 29 Some folks were given really strict toilet training, so everything connected to it is 'dirty' rather than 'normal.' Embarrassing! Many lock the bathroom door, even if they live alone! When I first moved to Japan, most of the public toilets were co-ed. No Men's or Ladies' Room. Everybody together, and no one raised an eyebrow or giggled. It took me a while to get used to that. I grew up with the closed (but not locked) bathroom door. US Marine Corps Basic Training barracks had just rows of toilets. No stalls. Get used to it. We eventually understand that everyone pees and poops. Certainly not something to get embarrassed about or fly into a fit of indignant rage when we see someone caught short. A little common sense goes a long way. Just don't pee in the punch bowl.
