For those of you who in this moment of a complex political crisis think that a "thumbs down" icon is in anyway a valid comment - be aware it is the equivalent of a digital grunt, an icon of mindlessness. the dumbest comment on the thread. THere is no "constitutional court" in th UK for a start.

At a time during a complex political crisis, why would you care if someone posts a thumbs down? People's thoughts on the issue are nothing to do with you.

It would be a first...

Oh God, lets hope not. That would be the worst possible outcome for Thailand. At least Thaksin has a brain, not so with the corrupt Anutin. Thailand lost it credibility once again with its constant shuffling of Prime Ministers. Its no wonder Thailand is a third world country and its economy failing.

But the Teflon Baht is unaffected !!

Yes, ......Marty. There will be

I would like to know when? Perhaps in another 50 years, but I wont see it.

Rumour is that Anutin has got his ducks in a row and is ready to go. Smart money has always backed him to become PM sooner or later. He's no fool, and will likely do a good job. However, this being Thailand, nothing is certain.

Like Tacksin's other daughter,

if you read  you will see there is no chance this would happen,  another  misinformed post

Even after her ousting it’ll be safe to assume that the next incumbent won’t be the one, or party, elected by the Thai people. The wealthiest 2% will never let that happen.

Thaksin has run out of immediate family members to step up as PM. His other daughter and son are not up for it.

For PT, it's Chaikasem or no one at present.

Dream on! The army is in full control of the senate.

Does not matter if it was his other daughter or son  they were not nominated at the beginning and you are correct the only one left for PT is   Chaikasem

I agree. Serious reforms in Thai society can only occur when the elite recognise it's in their interest too to modernise Thailand. I don't see that happening in the near future unfortunately.

The population need better education, look how easy it is to whip up nationalism against Cambodia, for example.

Hun Sen is a tyrant and evil dictator but the Thai population shouldn't vent their anger on the average Cambodian migrant worker.

It would be interesting to know what the Thai wives of members living near the Thai Cambodian border really think about Cambodian people at present.

Anutin! Your comment, "smart money has always backed him". Which punters are they. Are they the Senate army generals? Well I would not bet 1 baht on that guy. Yes if he gets the PM position he will do a great job to ensure he makes a sh.t load of money! The rich get richer and the poor get the picture.

Well, if he gets the job, we will see how he performs. Most likely the blitz on the cannabis business will be eased, while Thaksin's bid for casinos will be dropped. As for the rich getting richer, nothing new about that. It's happening everywhere.

He is on the list of five entitled to stand!!!!

I dont understand, as

Fufu had been "promoted" to the rank of air chief marshal in the Royal Thai Air Force

So anything could happen then?!

But still seems different if you are PM of Thailand?

I have a dog , she can become PM now.

You have government people ordering U boats without an engine.

Other ones destroy military boats.

True.

Anutin at the ready 👎 and while the latest PM to get the boot was wholly out of her depths, at least this latest constitutional court "surprise" will hopefully put an end to the Shinawatra brand.

The use of "political unrest" is wrong - search, Google, typ the words - the situation in Thailand is "Political crisis".

Hopefully, with all the turmoil, the political clowns will forget about the recriminalization of weed.

6 hours ago, ChipButty said:

If Anutin is the PM, will the weed shops be happy? or the customers?

He took his party out of the coalition because the government was recriminalizing marijuana, which meant all his (and his associates) businesses would lose massively after all the capital outlay. Why do you think he wants to be PM?

Why not call another election the elites wont like too many of them getting richer probably  lets see if anatin gets the job he cant do any worse than the current mob he is a lot smarter than what people think ifnot better warm up the tanks

Is she still a minister, an MP?

Should she not be sacked from those and banned from politics now?

Kicked out as PM I think it would be hard for her to have any credibility to hang on to her cultural minister position, or any other, except janitor maybe.

But then Daddy will use everything in his arsenal to hang-on to any semblance of power, as she was the last in line of Shins who could hold a position in power... the last two young ones are even less capable..
