  • Now maybe the Cannabis legislation will go back to being sane instead of axing a few thousand new cannabis based businesses!

  • I don't think this will be as toxic for farangs as it appears. His fanaticism during Covid was rethought and he decided he had misspoke. He had the right idea on the cannabis issue and I think he dese

No, neither Anutin or any other Thai PM did that.

Taskin did re 2005.

A look at the amount of Thai citizenship approvals under Taksin, his Sister and daughter compared to Prayud, a real Thai. Anutin was minister of interior and signed off none.

No, Thaksin did not increase visa fees.  Even so, I'd love to see those stats (that you must obviously have to hand) that you think proves that your claim of his visa fee increases is related to the number of Thai citizenship approvals.

Yes he did. Up to you if you believe it or not. I suggest you search in the Royal Gazette. Ministerial rule No. 27/2546 on June 27 2003 and came into effect a few months later.

Correction-- He was not elected, he was put in power by the support of peoples (elected) party under certain conditions, if he fails to honor these there will be more political trouble ,possibly a coup, he's only got 4 months to honor dissolving parliament them maybe good bye to the drug baron.

Anutin Charnvirakul has clinched the position of Thailand's prime minister following a commanding victory in the parliamentary vote on Friday. With robust support from opposition members, Anutin surpassed the necessary threshold, leaving behind the candidate from the Shinawatra family’s erstwhile ruling party.

This victory concludes a tumultuous week marked by political manoeuvres and intense power struggles.

Anutin’s win is a significant setback for the Shinawatra family, renowned for its enduring influence in Thai politics, reported Reuters.

The decisive outcome came after days of intrigue and strategic alignments, showcasing Anutin’s adept political acumen. His rise to premiership highlights a shift in the country's political landscape, potentially reshaping future alliances.

The election resolves recent political unrest and power vacuums, offering a new direction for Thailand's governance.

The focus now shifts to how Anutin will address the country's challenges and unite a diverse political spectrum. His leadership marks a pivotal chapter in Thailand's history, setting the stage for what could be a transformative period in the nation’s political journey.

Need to make a law that stops any shinawatra from getting into politics. Corrupt mafia, jail the lot of them

If they find a way to not allow family members he will just do it through one of his many close political allies.  They would need to find a way to cut off his money supply to really stop him.  I think they already tried that but apparently he has lots of money stashed away outside of the country where they can't get to it.

Production has already largely shifted to fewer, larger operations. Most small farms shut down over a year ago when prices plummeted. But the new regulation requiring a clean COA for commercially sold products is a good thing imo. It makes it harder for smaller operations, sure, but when it comes to something that's being smoked, strict regulations are extremely important. A lot of chemical pesticides, fertilizers, and plant growth regulators/hormones were being used in the early days of legalization, which are responsible for most mental health issues derived from using cannabis, not the THC or the cannabis itself.

Distribution won't change much, though. There were way too many shops in the beginning, which wasn't sustainable, regardless of changes to the laws. But I highly doubt we'll see 16k of the 18k shops currently open close like some predicted. Maybe half, over the course of the next year or so. Outside of a few pockets in Bangkok, nothing has changed except that the prices keep dropping, so margins get thinner and thinner for shops. But nobody is enforcing medical prescriptions or monthly limits outside of a handful of places in BKK. The genie is out of the bottle, and there's no putting it back in completely.

All true and well put.

Hard and harsh times to come for the foreigners living in Thailand.

For those who can, pack and look out in Vietnam or other fine nations in Asia.

Thakisim is gone or back from his trip in singapore will he be happy the daughter is gone and may even be on charges. He is no longer the back room pm,Study the politics of this country will take a lifetime for someone to learn.

You mean idiots will be able to buy uncontrolled THC level dope at exorbitant prices and get whacked out of their heads without a prescription
