Amarat's Naked Dance: A Political Promise Kept

A Thai singer, Nattawut, has been fined 1,000 baht following a controversial performance at a restaurant in Nonthaburi province near Bangkok. The lead singer of the band NEGATIVE performed naked, a move inspired by the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Sox on Cox" antics. The performance, shared on the restaurant’s Facebook page, sparked widespread debate and legal consequences.

 

The restaurant, ร้านมากันใหญ่, had promoted the event with excitement, highlighting the band's energetic set which included covers like "By the Way" by RHCP. In contrast to previous RHCP performances, the other band members remained clothed. The incident drew mixed reactions, with some calling it harmless fun and others pushing for legal action against both the performer and restaurant management.

 

Nattawut, aged 32, took responsibility at Bang Bua Thong Police Station, where he admitted to the act and clarified it was meant solely for audience entertainment. He expressed remorse for his actions, apologizing to the public and his fans. The police charged him under Section 388 of Thai Criminal Law for committing a shameful public act, which can result in up to a 5,000 baht fine. Both Nattawut and the restaurant manager received 1,000 baht fines.

 

The incident drew comparisons to a similar case in 2022 when influencer Paphavee "Oil" Chaimongkol was fined 5,000 baht for a comparable public act in Khon Kaen. Legal experts say that such penalties are relatively mild but indicate a need for performers to adhere to public decency laws.

 

In the aftermath, there may be increased scrutiny on performances in public venues, with authorities possibly enforcing stricter regulations to prevent similar incidents. Restaurants and entertainers might face more obligations to monitor and control the nature of their events to ensure compliance with local laws.

If the performer really wanted his 'equipment' to be well noticed he should have removed all his pubic hair before the show. Very easy to do, just use Veet (used internationally by competition swimmers (M and F)). Or Nair or similar hair removal cream. painless, easy to buy any country / easy and quick to apply, all completed in 5 or 6 minues, result total 100% smooth, hair tarts to reappear 5 or 6 days later.
