Those deserted buildings

Featured Replies

IMG-20250921-WA0024.jpg.ba38644bf916ffead0fcdb6ae7c0096c.jpgAs many of you know I was nearly brutally attacked by a ladyboy several weeks ago up on Threppasit Rd near the Supalai condo

I won't get into specifics except to say he/she tried to hug me and I pushed them over and they ran off ,  my psychologist suggested I go back to the area to recover from the trauma

Today I wearily stepped into the area and went into Pattaya Go kart where I saw the eyesore deserted buildings behind

Can someone here please tell me what were these deserted buildings once and why are they deserted with graffiti etc

I must say I'm quite fascinated by them

Whilst many were watching the go karts going round & round I started and studied the intricacies of the buildings

They saw you coming back and ran for the hills. They will be back once you go. Psychologist suggested. 5555555555555555555555555555555555

Are you serious? You consider a hug to be a brutal attack and you need to go see a psychologist?

Maybe Thailand is not for you.

Could we get back on topic please,it's about the deserted buildings not about my brutal attack in which sadly it sounds like you don't have a sympathetic bone in your body

Probably still better than my experience 2–3 months ago in Chiang Mai, A hombre I didn’t know came up and hugged me out of nowhere while I was sweating buckets after a run. Weird. It’s one of the reasons (though not the only one) I’m taking a break from the land of the Thais.

If you are sympathizing and commiserating with George it might be best for you to step away for quite  while.

Probably as in most cases, the builder went bankrupt.  Are those huge condo buildings by the Pataya city sign  still empty?  Also that huge hotel in Buriram on the ring road that was built almost three decades ago but never opened?  Not getting or following the building permits as was the case in the two I mentioned above ( At least that is what I was told).

Seriously, you needed a brain doc for that? You pushed them over, ran off, and you call that a "brutal attack", really? Were you injured? You are probably far too fragile for Thailand if you can't just brush that stuff off. Yeah, a mistake, but hey, live and learn. Ladyboys are to be viewed with extreme caution here as they as generally nuts, and ultimately, they are dudes in drag.

As for the empty ghost buildings... many stopped building during the pandemic and never restarted, probably good to stay clear of that stuff. In China the problem is even worse... whole ghost cities where no-one lives, but they don't let anyone know about it, as suppression, censorship, and oppression always wins the day there.

Please share your psychologist details, number, email etc.

We have a few here that need his/her help 😂

😜

BTW, those Deserted buildings, unfinished project, located opposite the old Harley Bar (Eden) were upmarket.

I looked into buying in that project, glad I didn't, it went pear shaped.

Then why the hell were you going on about your attack?

Next time, make sure to pay for the services provided, and this situation won't occur again.

There's no need for sexual harassment!

i must admit I  got into the habit in Thailand of not wearing underwear, it actually started when I accidentally took all my underwear to the laundry then wearing none on my next outing then continuing this .

Everytime I went out like this and got "pushed or jostled"off the foot pavement especially in the "indian" areas of Pattaya by the Indian men I would show them I wasn't wearing undies

You find those deserted condo buildings throughout Thailand. Some the funds go dry, some permit problems and some build on land they don't have ownership.

As far as that awful and brutal attack on you, kudos to you sir for being so brave. I had a thought that perhaps you could start a victim hotline for men who suffered similar attacks. You could have victim meetings serving bad coffee and doughnuts where you can share your experience with others. Very therapeutic.

You really need to exercise caution with the Indian men because they have a different approach to being heterosexual.

Yes I enjoy walking that "indian" area in Pattaya and seeing them holding hands ,arms around each other absolutely beautiful culture

No, you are talking about the deserted buildings, everyone else is talking about your "nearly brutally attacked" and "psychologist suggested" writings which is part of your deserted building story.

I guess by now you have learned not to post two completely unrelated topics on a thread.  I would welcome anybody posting information on the uncompleted buildings.  I would guess they were to be condos or rental apartments.  I am surprised that nobody has taken them over and finished them after so many years.

One thing I'll never understand, and I see this fairly often, a builder will get 4 or 5 condo buildings or 4 or 5 houses half-done and then, apparently, run out of money.  And, there they sit for years. There are about 3 or 4 unfinished very large highrise condos out near Bangkok's Impact that have been unfinished for years.  I think one or two might have finally been finished.

I know it is likely cheaper to pour all the foundations and do the structural work at the same time but wouldn't it make more sense, if money might be on the iffy side, to use limited resources to get one building or one house finished, and sold, before starting on the next one?  That way you would have money in hand to get the next one done.

With the project you mentioned, you've got three or four buildings sitting empty.  If they had started and finished just one in the beginning, and got the units sold or rented, they likely would have had enough money to start and get the second one done.  And, the next after that.

Post two separate threads then for 'diversity'.  Your mugging has nothing to do with unfinished projects.

The builders ran out of money, so just left them to rot and ruin the Environment.  This is the Thai Way.
