Pattaya Hotel Raided: Ugandan Women Arrested for Sex Work

Police in Pattaya have made arrests of two Ugandan women for allegedly operating a sex work business in a hotel, following multiple tourist complaints. The operation, led by Colonel Songwut Chuepholakit, resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old and a 40-year-old woman, both accused of soliciting services across from Soi 13 in Pattaya. This action was in compliance with the Prostitution Prevention and Suppression Act.

The crackdown aligns with the directive from Police Major General Sak Siri Phuak Aum, Chief of the Tourist Police, aimed at curbing crime impacting tourism, particularly foreign offenders. Complaints from international tourists highlighted disruptive behaviour from women soliciting services on Pattaya Beach, which involved aggressive tactics to attract customers. This follows incidents where these women reportedly harassed tourists, demanding purchases and causing disturbances.

The arrested women face charges of soliciting for prostitution in a manner described as a public disturbance. Police are enforcing laws against approaches made on streets or in public areas that cause discomfort or shame. The case serves as a reminder of ongoing efforts to maintain tourist safety and address illegal activities affecting the hospitality environment in Pattaya.

To answer your question, yes.  Mostly at nighttime, I hear there are more of them as customer base has shifted.

Tastes differ.

How can the 155 cm/90 kg Thai girls survive in the redlight?

Lots of weirdos coming to Thailand these days

This reads as pretty bizarre. If the complaints were about aggressive approaches why are they at the hotel?

Someone shagged then informed on the hotel location? Or, they were followed to the hotel for the arrest?

Sounds like the USA where they do stings.

Get a job at Makro, it's full of them,

The bigger of the two asked me up to her room early in the morning, day before yesterday.  Being an early riser, one sees some things here in Pattaya.  Buakhao is crawling with African hos in the wee hours.

Nothing to do with competition for Thais, as you'd know if you read the article properly, the arrests were as a result of complaints from international tourists as a result of disruptive behaviour from the blacks soliciting services on Pattaya Beach, which involved aggressive tactics to attract customers. This follows incidents where these women reportedly harassed tourists, demanding purchases and causing disturbances.

What difference would it make to their illegal activities?

You need to read the OP regarding the manner of the Ugandans' approaches.   Have there been complaints about approaches outside bars?

Soliciting 'promiscuously'  in public is not OK.  What goes on in a bar is OK as long as the doors are closed.  Where would Pattaya be without such places?

Correct.  But these girls were just hooking on the street.

But it doesn't concern Thai prostitutes, not even the modified males.

Usually a different approach, simply one trying to entice you into the bar.
