Militarily, America’s support for Israel is underpinned by a decade-long agreement; the current deal, worth $3.8 billion a year to Israel, runs until 2028. US military aid to Israel has at least tripled since the 7 October attacks and Washington directly provided one-third of Israel’s defence budget in 2024, said the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft. But there are fears that Trump will seek a less favourable deal next time.

 

The loss of US support might mean the end to the block on commercial satellites that Israel relies upon to “obscure its territory”, Hamze Attar, a defence analyst, told Al Jazeera. Israel could also lose the defence systems, such as Iron Dome and Arrow, which are partly funded by Washington. It would be forced to buy weapons from Europe, rather than getting them for free as it does from the US.

 

Israel is “very dependent on the US financially”, said Ori Goldberg, an Israeli political scientist, and losing that "would make things difficult”, but the nation's economy “wouldn’t collapse entirely”.

Millions of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank would be a lot happier and safer, As would many of the people in the Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Yemen and the other places that the IDF.

 

The other good news is that Netanyahu and ALL his Zionist criminal war cabinet would fall also.

 

Perhaps it may even trigger a new and more reasonable government in the USA.

 

That sounds like a good idea to me.

The world would end up being a far better place, without America sanctioning the genocide they would have very limited options. They are already a pariah throughout most of the world, and without American support all bets would be off, which might be a good thing.

And a big majority of American Jews vote Democratic whereas a big majority of Evangelicals vote Republican. Charlie Kirk was an over-the-top supporter of Israel in its war against Gaza.

Kirk did support Israel but he also opposed pro Israelis who wanted to silence pro Palestinians on campuses, so his support was not unqualified and total.

As for Kirk's support of Israel not being unqualified and total because he supported free speech, what does Charlie Kirk's support for free speech, an issue not confined to the Gaza war or Israel, have to do with his over-the-top support of Israel's war on Gaza?

Israel has very generously invited Arab nations to do the rebuilding and policing. And even if the Arab nations agreed, an unlikely eventuality, it's dubious that Israel would actually allow it to happen.

 I think that a big reason why Israel is being so brutal in this was is that they are rapidly losing the support  of younger Americans. Even young evangelicals. So they want to make life for the Palestinians in Gaza unendurable  before that cohort of young Americans becomes too potent electorally.

Evangelists are strongly connected to "the old testament". There, it clearly states that "God" is the God if the Isrealites only. Nowhere it is written that "God" cares about the rest of the world.

 

Therefore, I insist, that we in the west urgently need our own "God", a God that cares about the rest of the world.

 

But, at least the US Evangelists have already found their new God it seems. He is a government employee and works in the oval office in Washington.

Yes, true, but most of the major major banks are located in New York, as is much of American media,  a lot of wealth, and considerable influence wielded in New York.
