Behold, seven dazzling posts in a row from GammaGrunge, each one contributing exactly zero to the original topic. And then, poof, he vanishes like a short time girl after you drop your nut and two 1K notes in her hand. In his wake? Not a single shred of practical advice, not one coherent thought about fridges, gyrating cock rings, or oscillating anal probes. Just a torrent of unhinged GG rambling and diagrams, strewn from an extended episode of compulsive keyboard smashing, gadget worship, and unfiltered delirium. I've had my Samsung over 7 years and still okay. The weather here, especially if you don't have AC in the kitchen, has refrigerators working harder.

Lumpy power does them in faster.

Did he go on an obsessive barrage of littering us with Covid posts too? I can’t quite remember. What really made him legendary in the home appliance space, though, was when he humped his Samsung washing machine for all the world to see. It was the very model he bought four or five units of because he was utterly obsessed with it. I’ll never forget the video he uploaded to AN of the whole grotesque encounter. Who could have imagined a human body could contort into that level of schlong-dongery with a foonkin’ top-loading washing machine?

If the freezer fan stops working the whole refer stop working.   Replace the freezer fan..      Cheap.

I am really curious about that door. I have never seen this before.

You can literally pour acid on north American appliances and nothing will happen. I have a washer/dryer combo that is 25 years old and 4 different tenants and still works properly.

Yeah, the metal finish door is actually silver patterned paper, and the paper rubs away where your fingers open the door. Try to clean it and even more rubs off .......... first time I've seen it as well.

My refrigerator is 21 years old.   I'm sure it will die soon.

I have a guy who is pretty good at fixing fridges, the ones at home have always been ok but we have an apartment with a big Samsung fridge in there, it has had a few problems but the guy has always managed to fix it, which is good save buying a new one,

Believe it or not I know a Burmese guy who can fix TV's, he fixed one of ours, was about 3 or 4 years ago, it turns out he has a contract with a 5 star hotel here in Rawai fixing all the TV's, good for him,

I reckon it's the electricity is not stable causes a lot of problems,

Not in my home, it's all off grid, 230v or off ....... If the battery runs out ( happened once in the last year).

"Goddam it, my fridge just broke!"

"Thou shalt not use the Lord's name in vain." Especially over something as stupid and insignificant as a broken refrigerator.

Leave your imaginary friend out of it.

I have no imaginary friends, and I'm not religious.

Had good luck with Whirlpool, 13+ yrs, with an inexpensive repair about 2 yrs ago.  Also have a Panasonic, about 7 yrs old, I think.

So a quick browse of Lazada for a 9Q, 2 door fridge freezer gets me

Hisense 8.8Q fridge freezer from Lotussssss for 5,275bht

I guess at that price if it lasts 4 years I'll be happy enough!

Just go down to Siam tv and get a Toshiba or Mitsubishi, they’re cheap enough needing not to crapshoot with something cheap-er.

Then why did you post that religious outburst?

Outburst? No, it was more tongue-in-cheek. I made the comment after just getting off the phone with my sister. SHE goes to church, not for an invisible friend, just to have a social life because she's retired and lonely. She talks about it a lot. So, after the phone call I felt it appropriate to quote scripture.  The OP's uncouth description of refrigerator problems provided me with just such an opportunity. :cowboy:

That panel looks similar to the damage on your fridge doors

I have what looks like the exact same fridge  and the coating of what ever it is on the doors is  deteriorating in the same way.

It also stopped working (cooling) a while back,

if you take the metal plate off the back and look at the PCB control board you will find a small push button  marked  SW1

push it and there should be a beep    you might find the fridge works again....but  only until the next power cut.

(usual disclaimers of course be careful as there is high voltage on the PCB  I used a bamboo chopstick to press the button )

Not having a minion to press the button every time the power went down....I devised a cunning plan.

I bought a blue fridge in Chiang Mai in about 1988 for my first rented house here.Bought it second hand at a pawn shop .Was  still using in 2016 when I gave it away. I bought a new one at that time and that one is still working in the guest cottage . You just never know .

I have a York mini-split air conditioner that I bought in 2000, moved it to a new house around 2006, and moved it again around 2020. It's never been serviced (except when it was moved) or repaired and it's still going strong.

I do clean the filters regularly, but that's it.

Had our Hitachi 16 years without any problems, also a smaller Sharp fridge for more than 10 years.

Not happy with my Toshiba.

But how to get rid of it.

No recycling places like back home.
