I am an experienced Pendelum Dowser of more than 30 years (still learning) retired and living in Thailand and am interested in contacting other Dowsers who have the same hobby or others who are genuinely interested in learning Dowsing or improving existing Dowsing skills.

The practice of Dowsing is thousands of years old.

I use Dowsing very successfully for improving the quality of all areas of my life and for getting information, etc.

I have attached a photo of the Pendelum that I use for Dowsing however just about anything that can spin will work.

Feel free to send me a Personal Message if you dont want to Post here.

There's plenty of wowsers here, not too many dowsers though.

I've seen this in action. I was very sceptical until the bloke found what we were looking for.

How do you avoid hitting water in Thailand?

Maybe if he swings upside down that finds the dry bits?

Is this another term for dogging ?

Now that would keep the thread going....555

With the amount of anti-vaxxers on here, you shouldn't have any problems finding people who also believe in dowsing. I get the feeling those types of groups often overlap.

I think professional hydrologists do everything they can to denigrate dowsers.........they are a dark crowd not to be messed with

I not an anti vaxxer, quite the opposite.

I was very sceptical about dowsing, but what I saw made me think twice.

I can't explain how it worked but it did.

Just one piece of bent wire used.

Me and my dad were travelling around the Goldfields in Western Australia. Dad had the gold bug and we went out prospecting. This is a very large ara and many places a very isolated. Dad had a trailer on the car and the yoke snapped along with the safety chain.

Trailer flew off in to the bush at 110km/hr.

We could see the trailer about a 100m away and dragged it back to the road. One mudguard had come off. We searched but couldn't find it.

Along come a bloke- let's call him a " bush character" - in a VW Kombi van with back half turned into a tray.

It was full of sheep's heads and bones. His job was to clear debris from transport routes roads, railways etc. We loaded the trailer onto the VW and mentioned we had lost the mudguard.

Out comes the bent wire and off he goes. Me and were quietly laughing as we had searched high and low. After about 15 minutes the bloke comes out of the bush with the mudguard.

I'm still wondering how it did these 60 years later.

I still chuckle to myself about this bloke. He had a chicken that lived in the engine bay, nesting quite happily.

I am VERY interested (and a Pro-Vaxxer), not just  in dowsing, but in the mechanism behind it.

In Parapsychological circles, dowsing and pendulums can be called 'Id Motor Response Mechanisms.' They don't work, but the operators do.

Let me explain what I mean. We, as a modern civilization, have been trained since birth to reject anything that can't be explained by repeatable, scientific testing. Like ESP. No, not extra sensory perception, but Effective Sensory Projection. But we can not accept the fact that we can do it! It's not some special superpower. Everyone can do it, but we've been trained that we can't.

That said, we are more than willing to put that power into a bent piece of coat hanger or a plumb bob!
It's US! We are directing these tools unconsciously.  We've seen these things produce results enough times to use them, if not believe them. I've used both methods many times... often successful, sometimes failure. Like life. Personally, due to repeated 1st person experiential data, I believe.

We need someone like you to Dowsing the minds of many of the members here that find refuge in spreading hate and malice under the guise of caring for poor people they never heard of or really gives a hoot for but only too happy to join the hate crusade between the beer and the joint.

Is it really that difficult to find water in Thailand?

Nothing can do that mate - they are 'lost in the woods' with people like Greta and Harris - and will soon be like Biden.

Anecdotes don't prove a thing. Every time dowsing has been tested in a controlled way (using people who are absolutely sure of their ability), it has failed to work any better than chance. People like James Randi have offered large rewards for anyone being able to prove their dowsing ability, but none have been able to claim them. If dowsing actually worked, it would be the easiest thing in the world to prove.

The myth about dowsing is so long-lived because many people still incorrectly believe that water runs in "lines" under the ground, which is simply not the case.

Not trying to prove anything.

As I said, I don't know it worked but it did. Maybe it was sheer luck, but dad and I searched the area for quite some time with no result.

By the way most people think incorrectly of dowsing as exclusively water divining.

A metal mudguard is not made of water.

Perhaps the OP can comment.

Dowsing reminds me of the GT200 — basically a metal coat hanger on a plastic box with a piece of plain paper printed with the name of the target substance inside.

Used for detecting bombs and bodies.

Personally, I thought the 1,000 units at 1 million baht each were great value — introduced under a Govt leader now serving time at Klong Prem.

I never claimed that a mudguard is made out of water, just that water dowsing is the reason that some people still believe in it. Dowsers and its believers often think that water runs in veins under the ground. So the dowser walks around, points to a spot and says: "There's the water vein". They dig and find water, concluding that the dowser correctly identified where this "underground river" runs, with pinpoint precision. The reality is that water doesn't run in veins, but in large aquifers. They could have dug pretty much everywhere in the area and still have found water, but now believe that they accurately struck a vein thanks to the dowsing.

For people who believe in these veins, this is proof that dowsing actually work, even though it's nothing of the sort. Without water dowsing, extremely few people would still believe in dowsing as a whole.

I am certainly not suprised that your lost mudguard was found as Dowsing can be used for very many things it just needs Faith and confidence.

All of the very many Dowsers I have met use their Spirit Guide(s) to help them some go even higher and ask Jesus to help them and some even higher and ask God (were nothing is impossible).

I use Dowsing for very many things including but not limited to Healing, clearing of Negative energjes, checking the safety of travel, research and much more.

I understand peoples sceptism as we are not taught about this for various reasons.

Dowsing has helped me and my wife in all areas of our lives considerably and still does.

The Pendulum is simply a tool that shows when it spins that the Mind is is working on a defined Intent for something to be done.

Hope this provides some clarity.

I have fortunately been blessed with two great Dowsing Mentors over the last 30 years the first the late David Alan Slater and the second Raymon Grace who has used dowsing very successfully to amongs other thing clean up polluted water in the USA and in several other Countries here is a Link to Raymons Website for those who may be interested.

If faith is all you need then you can convince yourself of anything

I have a pendulum too, it gives me immense pleasure. But sorry, I can't post a photo. 😝

My uncle John could do it, a couple of bent wire coat hangers in Bic pen pivots and he could certainly find water.

I couldn't make it work.

Weren't the GT-200 bomb detectors based on a similar effect?

Are you sure water does not run in lines under the ground?

I had a big sand filter for the swimming pool.

When I took of the lid of the pool filter, the sand lay in rivers and banks. The water was flowing thru these small rivers not thru all the sand, therefore not filtering properly.

Also inspecting some aquifer bore wells in remote locations, one bore would have lots of water and another 0.5 m away no water.

I think the underground water would flow through ground of least resistance similar to rivers on the surface.

No proof thought.
