The US will actually always be relevant, being a world power that helps many other countries and keeps many safe. Politics affect every corner of the globe, some good, some bad, and it will never go away, so it's something people like to talk about. I'm not political, seeing the leaders as they actually are, hoping they'll eventually get around to helping the little man instead of the rich who don't need it.

 

There are many other topics here, although some are the usual bar girl nonsense you also don't have to worry about. I would think most of the members here are from most other countries besides the US, and it's good to hear about what goes on in their part of the world, so we can compare the craziness that happens outside the US.

For a year or two they got rid of politics if you recall and it was like tumbleweeds for a while - it's hard to get much new reaction to stories about tourists doing wrong, problems at an immigration office or price discrimination, girl stories etc ... 

Politics can involve moral and intellectual decisions same as real life .. american politics is more relatable to many than thai politics or other countries
