A passenger bus travelling from Bangkok to Khon Kaen collided with a cement truck on the Mittraphap Road near a weigh station in Ban Jod Nong Kae, Jod Nong Kae Subdistrict, Phon District, Khon Kaen, early on 3 November 2025. The crash left two people dead, one male and one female and 30 passengers injured. Emergency responders quickly transported the injured to Phon Hospital for treatment.

The bus, operated by Charn Tour and registered in Khon Kaen, was driven by 40-year-old Jarukit Narasat. It struck the rear of a cement truck registered in Udon Thani, driven by 24-year-old Thanaphon Naotan.

Isn't this like the 4th major bus crash in the last 7 days? Something needs to be done to find the real causes to these crashes..

Two kings of the road getting close. Recipe for disaster.

Both have right of way in any case by unwritten law.

Cement truck drivers seem to be the absolute lowest caste of wreckless drivers.

On our densely populated village road they speed like fighting for their life.

Bus driver may not have been drunk but was he awake?

I'm starting to think buses crash more often than cars here !!

Wouldn't get on one or let any family member get on one even if it was free for life .

50/50 chance you reach your destination 💀

It's a lost cause in Thailand... the roads are a treacherous way to travel...

Maybe that is the answer.

For every long distance passenger high volume bus there should be followed by a van of Emergency Responders.

When I lived in Thailand, during my 20 years I made many long distance bus journeys (mostly overnight) from Lanna and Isaan to Bangkok and beyond.

I was never involved in an accident and always arrived safe and in one piece at my destination.

Your lucky then as just look at the news over the last year and they are just the reported ones 🙈

Oh well, it could always be worse. Compared to India, it's peanuts here.

Look this for example:
