Im trying to do the supposed “responsible” thing and diversify my assets but i agree investing is a fancy word for gambling. Even the most responsible investment, index funds, is not safe. And went bankrupt in several others. The only reason that he held on to much of his inherited fortune is that bankruptcy laws made it very difficult for local banks to recover their money. All they could do was to boycott him in the future.

I made money over the years .through land investments,stocks and business that afforded me the luxury of salting it away. I have IRA investments(rolled over into a Bank IRA savings acct.),one pension and Soc Secu. & my nest egg.. Dem volatile rhetoric & attacks than was enough for me to see a stressful retirement financially wasn't worth it. I became radically conservative with my life savings. Good luck
