A Polish tourist has caused another uproar in Phuket after a second altercation involving threats and aggressive behavior. The incident occurred near Phuket International Airport when the 41-year-old man argued with another guest and attempted to stab him. Local police intervened, forcing him to leave the hotel, but it remains uncertain if any charges were filed.

The tourist, who previously threatened a hotel staff member in a similar incident, has drawn significant concern among locals. Reports suggest he has been disruptive in various accommodations throughout the province, often travelling with his two cats. Witnesses describe him as bald and habitually barefoot, raising unease over his unpredictable conduct.

Community members and netizens have reacted strongly, urging authorities to take immediate action. There are calls for a psychiatric evaluation, deportation, and blacklisting to prevent potential harm. One local resident expressed worry, questioning if officials are waiting for someone to be severely hurt before acting decisively.

As the year-end holiday season approaches, stakeholders are increasingly worried about safety and the potential impact on tourism. The escalating situation demands a clear response from law enforcement and local authorities to ensure community safety. Hotel owners have been alerted to remain vigilant.

Key Takeaways

  • A Polish tourist in Phuket has repeatedly shown violent behavior, involving threats and attempted stabbing incidents.
  • The local community is urging authorities to assess the tourist's mental health and consider deportation.
  • Concerns grow as the incidents may impact the holiday season and overall tourist safety.

  • What legitimate reason is there to arrest him? Not wearing shoes?  They do not define being disruptive as reported by Thais. Thais can say disruptive to almost any behavior they do not understand

They do not define being disruptive as reported by Thais. Thais can say disruptive to almost any behavior they do not understand. Even just normal speaking if you have a loud voice. Or perhaps they do not like to see he is wearing a catheter with a pee bag attached.

I do know one thing though. Whoever took the pic should be arrested for being a peeping Tom. Is it not illegal to stand at someone window and take photos of them inside their home and post them online?

Should be on the next flight out of Thailand, with a lifetime ban.

The MRT knows how to deal with this:

There are signs at the doors that advise to: Grab a Pole

These Jam Rolls are a bloody nuisance. If they are not threatening to stab someone, they make road users crash into them. We read about it every day.😃

Probably spent 20 years living in Walsall, which sent him 'off his trolley'!😁

No Thai I know has that much forethought

So attempts to stab someone and just gets asked to leave the hotel 😳

He should be jailed , blacklisted for life and all the cops that asked him to leave should be suspended for not doing their duty and just taking the easy way out instead of confronting him.

You’re clueless. Did you forget your meds today? He should obviously arrested for threatening and assault.

When are the signs going up: Poles not Welcome Here

yes.  I really do not understand why Thailand tolerates anything like this.  Doesn't matter if he was drunk, on drugs, or whatever at that time.  Give him a very long ban ASAP

When I read he was polish, I immediately thought of the World's Strongest Man multiple time winner, Mariusz Pudzianowski. What a beast.

OK, send him to the Eastern Flank to dig trenches.

Error I think attempting to stab another person is reason enough, could you not be bothered to read the report apart from the heading

One tourist, 2 cats, something must be done. Disruptions, very worrisome.

"blacklisting to prevent potential harm. One local resident expressed worry, questioning if officials are waiting for someone to be severely hurt before acting decisively."

But all these ambulances with full sirens on, might, very well might indicate that something must be done about people being severely hurt on the roads. Well, well....

That could be B.S. since no charges have been made for this act.

Second altercation? Rediculous! How many altercations before he is detained and charged. We don't need a third altercation where he injures or, even worse, kills someone. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, the hotel room photo of this idividual screams  "Deport, Deport, Lifetime ban!!"

30+ million tourists, why do they need to mess around with clowns like this?

Trying to stab a fellow guest at the hotel might fit the bill in terms of a of grounds for charges. I think they will let him off the not wearing shoes

So trying to stab someone is not disruptive? Bait post.

The Thai police need to intervene in this matter due to his actions of threatening to stab another person.  Whether he is held or not is up to the Thai court to decide.

Or maybe it isn’t bs. It’s certainly included in the report, as is threatening behavior.

You appear to be trying to make an argument akin to man not walking on the moon since you weren’t there to witness it.

Maybe he was just practising Pole Dancing?

Were you a witness? If that was really the case, why wasn't he arrested? Rumours, rumours, no facts.
