What might be your preferred Funeral Dirge?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

Here in Thailand, have you ever thought about dying?

If so, then what might be your preferred funeral music, to send you OFF?

It’s getting to be that time of life, that we must think of such things….Right?

So, here is MY favorite music for my funeral.

What about you?

It’s always wise to plan your funeral in advance.

Otherwise, you might be listening to the wrong music…

Lying on your funeral pyre.

Or, if you wish, and if your GF is willing…

Your GF will be burned alive, with you…..

This wonderful tradition is called….

I think it’s a great practice, and we should bring it back.

Best regards,

Gamma

Note One:  This might take over 11 minutes to die, if you listen carefully…..to Whipping Post.....

Note Two:  And, to all those well-wishers attending my pyre, I wish them well, and I wish them to just carry on....as best they can.....

Id like to be a tree pod.

That TIFFANY song " I think we're alone now "

Would suit your funeral better as you will be the only one attending !!

I want them to play 'Pop Goes the Weasel'  over my casket... and take video of the mourner's faces as it plays.

"Some day I'm coming back" by Lisa Stansfield?

Or maybe "Another one bites the dust" by Queen. 😀

I'm only ("only!") 68 and my cremation/handling of the ashes are already bought and paid for, done and dusted.

I've had two friends who passed without taking care of things and we all had to pick up the tab. Neither went smoothly and hard feelings surrounded both deaths.

Lament for the Children, a Bagpipe tune.

I'm considering "Voodoo Child" by Jimi Hendrix or "Dead Skunk" by Loudon Wainwright III.

Maybe "All Things Must Pass" by George Harrison.

Must be something by Bob...

But so many come to mind...

"...done and dusted...." Spot on, as in "ashes to ashes, dust to dust".

Iggy Pop "Lust For Life."

You caught that, eh? Well done.

A slow instrumental version of Star of the County Down.  Video on youtube performed by two sisters from Kansas.  Violin and guitarist.

Close second is House of the Rising Sun by the animals because I used to play that nonstop for hours.

Third might be Passenger by Iggy Pop.  , Moving on to the next ride, if there is one

Can't think of any better song than Light my fire with the Doors

Do the Dead by The Cramps.

Genius. It was  the song I would always play in my head on the way to a sales call to amp myself up with the proper attitude.

” life is short and filled with stuff”.

Too right.

Do you think this tune might have been partially responsible for your early retirement?

Rammstein - Feuer Frei.

Really looking forward to see Till on his solo "Meine Welt" tour in Bangkok.
