Definitely the way to go, anything else is a PITA

Lighter fluid and nail polish remover  (either/or, not both together) work, too.

Tea tree oil.

Still here?

You should be paying me royalties for using my name.- or at least a gratuity now and then when you post.

Anyway, a bonafied idiot wouldn't take the stickers off, he would leave them on like so many Thais do.

Why? Because they grew up in cash-poor households where buying a major appliance was a big event in their lives. Something to let all and sundry know about.

Most expat farangs have had a much more affluent upbringing, so they don't need to oo-ut roo-ay.

A hair dryer is the best, safest, cleanest method.

Why:

  • Heat softens the glue without damaging the surface

  • Sticker lifts off in one piece

  • Minimal residue afterward

  • No chemicals needed

  • Works on stainless, plastic, glass, enamel — everything

Use medium heat, 20–30 seconds, test a corner, reheat if needed.

If you want zero residue, warm it, peel slowly, then wipe with a tiny bit of dish soap on a damp cloth.

Mix Baking Soda with any Vegetable oil, and the sticker and glue will come off.

I use eucalyptus oil. Dissolves glue and smells nice.

Try asking Google 'how to remove stickers off my washing machine'.

You can buy "sticker removal" in a spray can online from for example Lazada; however, be aware using it on a plastick surface could damage the plastic. Another tip – you might probably find it on Youtube, but I saw it on Instagram – is a piece pf (clear) packing tape glued on top of the sticker, a flame (short time) from for example a lighter (I used that), and then remove the tame: The sticker below the tape will follow the tape...👍

If it's the type that you would have to remove in a million little pieces just put some clear tape over it and then heat it up a bit with a hairdryer and then remove the clear tape. Heat is always a good idea before you remove stickers.

But what if the sticker is on your hair dryer?

😁

Wouldnt use nail remover, acetone in it, it can also resolve paint.

Acetone can really solve lots of plastics and paints. Be aware with that one.

Petrol can also take care of the glue. Thinner, white spirit

Be aware they are flammable.

Starting, have a pvc strip or what ever plastic with sharp site to lift sticker.

When you have enough beginning sticker, slowly pull. Not towards you, but along sticker way.

As said a heater can also make it easier.

Gasoline.

I hate stickers , especialy the ones they put in supermarkets on plastic boxes and whatever else, they never come of normaly and always need a scrub and solvent or gasoline after to remove sticker glue

Get a little bit of a corner off, then spray WD40, let it soak a while

Taking stickers off of large newly bought appliances has constantly met with resistance from my wife.

Your thoughts on why so many Thais want to leave them on indefinitely are probably right.

One of those cultural differences that are best left unchallenged.

However, I've always stood my ground on this issue, come hell or high water - and both have come at various times in our life together.

I leave the stickers on to know when I bought them and marvel at how long they last..or not.  I also leave on the clear plastic protective film  on most things  for as long as possible, because it protects the thing from scratches, eventually the plastic film gets ragged and so I still get the (delayed)  'satisfaction' of peeling that off 😋
