Im glad to hear that someone else will be assertive like me. What I worry about is 1 person in a million is unhinged and might carry a firearm. Sometimes here about bullets being shot. It is possible here.

Daft post. Especially the first comment. Why bother writing all that fluff? Did you take your meds this morning?

I move over to the left lane and stay a safe distance behind that slow mover. Within seconds a Thai driver will arrive in the right lane and sit a couple of meters behind that slow mover until it is f

truth is, Im sure some here also bought their driving license in Thailand by using agent, and never showed up to any office

Could you explain your "truth" as obtaining a legitimte driving licence here requires the applicant's presence at the issuing office in order for their photo to printed on the licence.  Any agent that does not require that is selling fake licences.

in Thailand. Members who never ever did drive a bigger motorbike than a small moped buys their first big bike here.

Happens in other countrie also where a 'big bike' cannot be legally ridden until the test has been passed on a small bike.

This morning, right hand lane on the 7 motorway driving to work at 5am.

I was approx 3 car lengths behind a pickup doing 120km/h.

All of a sudden the pickup swerved left, I was greated by a highway patrol car crawling with no lights on.... not sure how A: I missed him and B: did not roll my car swerving to avoid.

I suppose the occupants pointed their pistols at you, again, eh?

I have a pair of 9" spotlights on the front and a pair of triple air horns behind each side of the bumper.

Yeah, right, six air horns each side, 'course you do.

A personal attack has been removed, no need for that @Ralf001

If you're an impatient or incautious driver then Thailand is not the country for you - its not going to end well.  I've driven many thousands of km in Thailand over the past 15+ years and seen too many collisions.  Just take it easy. If you're prone to getting frustrated then ease back, breathe deep and count slowly to ten.  Maybe listen to a podcast on the radio or something. Your actions are not going to change the way Thais drive. Don't try to 'teach them a lesson' - just accept it.  Most Westerners are retired and generally not on a tight schedule.

Couple of years ago my wife's sister bought a new truck. Never driven a car before. Failed the driving test twice so ended up buying a licence. She is a terrible driver and my blood runs cold when I think about it. My wife has a legit Thai licence but is also a terrible (frankly dangerous) driver and I don't let her drive. There's an awful lot of these people out there.  So in the words of Sgt Esterhaus ('Hill Street Blues') "Let's be careful out there".

I drive the 7 motorway daily, approx 70,000 km per year for the past 20 yrs.

Only  seen a handful of accidents in that time.

Before this thread dissolves into a sea of troll-dom, I have noticed when forced to overtake in the left-hand lane as the moron just WILL not move, glancing at the driver (those who haven't got totally black-out windows) and often find they holding a phone, and don't won't be be bothered with petty things like signalling and maneuvering

Back home i used to hate drivers driving slowly in both lanes and blocking traffic and used to think i wish i was driving a truck so that i could shunt the one in the right lane up the axse.    Later there came a time when i was driving trucks and no one ever slowed down in front of me,  wonder why ?.

Yesterday I was driving in Isan on a newly paved 2 lane highway. Slow driver in the left lane. Slow driver in the right late driving next to each other basically. I was behind in the right lane waiting patiently and nothing happening. The driver in the right would not move faster out of the way. So I flashed him a few times. Nothing. Flashed again and then he put is brakes on. This dead brain driver thinks he owns the road. I was a bit pissed by this stage. Flashed again and he moved over slowly.

It made me really angry and I drove on past. He was basically holding up all the traffic behind and unsure why he was playing this game.

In this situation do you flash the lights the same as me or what do you do.

I find it a windup driving on the roads here. Or maybe I have anger issues?

I hate to be a stickler, but if the car is driving at the maximum allowed speed, obviously they can do that.

....." I flashed him a few times.....".....You don't seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed, if you think that helps:clap2:

Light flashing here can lead to big trouble. Best to stay calm at all times. BTW overtaking on the left is quite normal in Thailand and, legal or not, doesn't appear to annoy the RTP or other motorists.

9 times out of 10 on the 7 motorway it certainly does help.

I Was driving behind an IDIOT Doing about 40kmh in the Right hand lane the other day, There was NO Traffic in the Near Side so I UNDERTOOK Him & Just gave him a couple of TOOTS on my Horn.....NO Problem because it appeared HE Was Asleep........

Best not to toot either. Totally unnecessary.

I’ve come to the conclusion that most Thais are unaware of the “keeping to the left unless overtaking rule” having said that in oz for example it applies to roads with speed limit of 80 or more.

Oh, I've tried everything, including flashing, horning, nothing seems to wake up sleep slow drivers in the right lane.

But, if I've got the time, I find the inevitable opportunity to get ahead of him, and then, I slow down, slower than them.

They move to the left.  So I proceed.  Then, sure as s$%t they will get back into the fast lane, and drive slow, so I have to slow down again, until they move to the left.

Then move on.  IF I have the time and patience to teach these imbeciles what the fast lane is for.

3 cars nehind is a safe distance and we were travelling at the speed limit.

I think 3 + seconds would be a much safer distance at motorway speeds.

the driver may have been waiting for a U-turn, take over in the left lane if its free to do so

Get a Ford Raptor with extra lights is the solution 😉

Og course some provoking colours and stripes helps showing dominance.

like someoneelse mentioned..  pull to the left and wait about 10 seconds for some ya ba laced local in a pick up or 16wheeler to pull right up on the guys bumper... and if that don't work then they will squeeze their way around everyone by splitting the lane or using the shoulder

My take on it, is to plan my driving to hours there is not so much traffic, but it rush hours, or lunch time and never drive in the dark. Also using more district roads than higways if possible and of course not when there is harvesting season and also try to localize larger road constructions.

Most of the time we driving in Isaan, mid country or north as well south, so there is options to avoid road rage most of the time. But have to say, even I dislike Ford, Raptor is a intimidating car, as well the mentality among their drivers.

"...often find they holding a phone".

Considering that, probably, 99% of vehicles in Thailand have tint dark enough to prevent seeing into them, I suspect that you don't "often" find that and you're just making it up.

They wouldn't be the only ones showing imbecilic actions.

They "can", i.e. they have the physical ability to do so, obviously, but they shouldn't; no civillians have the authority to block a lane just to self-righteously impose a speed limit on another motorist.
