If you like Martin Clunes then might be worth watching Manhunt series 1 & 2. I know they are available on ITVX (I struggle to get this in Thailand even with VPN) but believe both series available on other streaming platforms - Amazon Prime, Acorn TV, Netflix etc.

He plays the real life London DCI Colin Sutton. He was tasked with catching a killer which turned out to be Levi Bellfield. In the second series he is tasked with catching the Night Stalker who was responsible for a series of rapes and assaults on the elderly in South East London spanning a 17 year period.

Both based on fact and both excellent series - thoroughly absorbing.

There is another series called The Real Manhunter which comprises of interviews with DCI Colin Sutton explaining how he caught some of the most serious criminals the UK has known. Another excellent watch.

Yes I have seen it Keeps---but thanks for passing that on anyway-------clap2

Should be more like 5.5 IMHO

That sounds about right. I thought it was pretty weak.

Brilliant film with the lens angles and the zither, a true classic.

Wow, many thanks for that detailed analysis of the movie..........so much more than meets the eye, as the saying goes.

A brilliant but troubled detective, Harry Hole, hunts a serial killer while battling a corrupt adversary, Tom Waaler, as they navigate ethical gray areas, with Harry determined to bring the criminal to justice.

Pretty Lethal

Slasher movie featuring a troop of ballerinas

Bait Season 1 out,

Odd series about an out of work actor and James Bond.

Seeking out a few movies from the recent past I came across one called, "Nobody" and it stars Bob Odenkirk (whom I knew nothing about) and starts off very low-key and "timid" but soon evolves into action and lots of killing/shooting.

I wasn't really anticipating this but in the end it made for quite good viewing!

Also came across one featuring Jason Statham and written and produced by Guy Ritchie (surprised?) called "Wrath of Man" which again starts off low-key but later on turns into a shooting fest.

It transpires that Jason Statham's new job as a security guard for a security company is not what it seems and he has "ulterior motives"......an okay movie, more so if you like Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham and lots of shooting!.

You haven't heard of Bob Odenkirk?

I take you haven't seen Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul.

I'm the other way around.

I find there's not many movies worth watching these days.

TV is a lot better quality IMO.

Generally I agree, however I have just watched what I thought was a good movie, called, "The Last Duel", starring Matt Damon, Adam Driver and Ben Affleck and the delightful Jodie Comer. Based on a true story in medieval times and told from the different perspectives of the main characters.

Great sets and scenery and must have cost a fortune to produce (Ridley Scott) but don't know what the movie grossed as I cannot access the IMDB website for some reason!

Looking at the estimated figures on IMDB, it cost 100 million to make and has taken in 30 million.

Ouch.

This was excellent.

Similar scenarios with him and the family on vacation this time. Just watched it again yesterday. Good entertainment. Comedy and action. Working Man with Statham also good action, same type of movie he usually does.

My goodness thats a lot of the greatest series ever made. Through in Oz as well i bet.

A film that may have been suggested before on this thread that I watched cable some years back.

Clint Eastwood directed film called "Changeling". Based on a true story about a woman whos young son disappears and the subsequent events. Angelina Jolie stars. If you havent seen it, it is worth hunting down.

Good movie, watched it recently.

Dropping now with subs (1337X).

Not small sizes yet.

Jake and Neytiri's family grapples with grief, encountering a new, aggressive Na'vi tribe, the Ash People, who are led by the fiery Varang, as the conflict on Pandora escalates and a new moral focus emerges.

I don't recall ever having complained about "nothing to watch", more that I have found nothing interesting to watch, even though I do sort out a few movies from the past which are most satisfying.

As I have said previously I'm not keen on long-running series because for me they get tiring so I'd rather find something which is two or three episodes long and I do that quite often on BBC iPlayer where there is an array of films and docos, which I often watch for their interest – – for example anything by David Attenborough and also there was one series called "Wolf Hall" which I found interesting.

I can find plenty to watch if I want to and going back to watch selected episodes of "Only Fools and Horses", "The Thin Blue Line", "Fawlty Towers" etc give me a chuckle although I have found that the later episodes of "Absolutely Fabulous" are a bit boring!

And of course recommendations from AN are always good to follow up on, so plenty to watch if I put my mind to it!!!!

Following on from my last post, I downloaded and watched a movie starring Nicolas Cage, called "Pig". I did see a few reviews which were very complimentary to Cage and his acting ability, but that didn't come through for me in the movie!

It is a very different kind of movie with no real action in it and I really didn't see the point in it, so at the end I got on the Internet to try to find out the "story" behind it, and I won't give it away here, but for me it still remained a pointless movie with no real story/thread running through it, although the critics would say that there was!

It seems we are all different in the way we look at movies, and long may it continue.

One movie I could have bought for my collection but didn't, although I might one day. Cage makes a lot of movies but most are B styles and action oriented. The last one I actually bought is Butcher's Crossing, which is okay. He's a character and fits his movies well.
