Successfully opened account today with Kasikorn.

Once everything was completed they informed me that online banking was not available. Little bit annoyed about this because I don't really like using my phone for banking .

So, I downloaded the app and it will not accept my passport number, only Thai ID.

Do I really have to go back into the branch just to register the app?

Don't know about the app but suspect you will have to go back..

Online banking from Kasikorn works for me..however I have had the account for a long time maybe they have stopped for new customers ?

One thing about the app I do know is that you have to use a cellular mobile signal not Wifi for the first setup.

Best idea is to go to a branch and let them download the app and set everything up including the facial recognition, they are very good and it only takes 10 mins . Also , make sure you have mobile data available on your phone , not WiFi.

Presumably you can use the app on WiFi after the setup?

Otherwise it would be completely useless.

Not weird, all the banks apps have the same initial requirement. And yes, you can use wifi thereafter.

You should be able to set it up yourself like i did, install, turn wifi off so it uses phone data then login

Yes, after setting it up, you can use the app on WiFi. I always use it on WiFi when I'm paying bills at home and that's fine.

Why would it be completely useless, it runs the same on mobile data as wifi and more so as initial set up requires?
