Bangkok Bank ATM card renewal

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

My Bangkok Bank ATM card expired end of January and today I went to the Bank for a new card.

I was told if I had renewed it before it expired it would have been a fee of ฿100 ,but as it had expired I had to pay a fee of ฿699.

I had to have a valid Non O visa to do this renewal .

Usually you can pay by QR code online, alternatively i use a credit card. Usually banks have a partner bank where you can use their ATM for a small fee, personally just plan better and it's never an i

I think I would have declined that kind offer. I can't remember the last time I used my Kasikorn card, but then I only ever used it for cash withdrawals for which cards are no longer needed. Why was it so much, must have some special features😅

Sounds like they sold you insurance as well?

IIRC, the annual card fee is automatically deducted from the account with an sms notification.

Good reminder on the visa requirement for getting a new one though. I'm sure some are getting tripped up by that and the other BBL shenanigans.

Does not surprise me from rubbish bank.

I withdrew via ATM Kasikorn mid January.

The machine prompted me to include card renewal for 300b.

I opted for Yes.

Strangely the card (expired) can still be used last withdrawal Feb 13.

Will attend branch to obtain new card when in Bangkok.

For me a card is useful. I don't use app.

What about online purchases inside Thailand?

PS; I thought that cardless withdrawals were only possible via an issuer bank ATM and not others!

That's good to know. I will put a reminder for Oct 2028 to renew my card before it expires in Nov 2028. BBL automatically deducts my card fee annually. I never thought about what would happen when it expired. I know they have different card fees depending on which card is selected. My wife selected a card with a higher annual fee than mine because she wanted to earn some points for shopping.

My annual fee is due in July. The card expiration and the annual fee date are not the same.

It would have been ฿100 if l had renewed before expiry, which is very reasonable. It was expensive because I renewed after the expiry date.

I have an annual charge for the account. This is not a fee for the card as the card is valid for 5 years. It is an account annual fee.

The annual fee is for the account and not for the card. The card is valid for 5 years.

I'm pretty sure your annual fee is for the debit card use. I have two savings accts. One has a debit card and an annual card fee. The other savings acct doesn't have a debit card and it doesn't have an annual fee. See snippet below

Was your previous card a Union Pay and you have now changed to Master Card? I opted for the change and MC cost significantly more than UP.

Yes. I regularly use Bangkok Bank ATM's to withdraw from Kasikorn (costs me 10 baht a time).

OK I'll give it a try. I have a Bangkok Bank account and have tried three other ATM's with no luck.

If you use the Wise app , online purchases are not a problem

you van use the "physical card #" or the "Digital Card" #

I just changed from UP ( shortly before expiry ) they gave me a MC debit card without asking , strangely they didn’t charge me anything.

I had to return to request online access ( for paying Lazada and linked to some EV charging apps etc ) and thought they might have picked up that i wasn’t charged but nope.
