I find their menu basic.

Yep. Standard British cafe style tucker, well presented. I'm on my way!

  • I posted on the other thread (about businesses opening and closing) a few weeks ago about the Pulcinella Italian Risto-Pub that has opened in the former Punch & Judy premises on Soi 17 (Soi Region

  • You have mentioned this in other posts repeatedly???? I know a good short time hotel.

  • Yesterday, went to Welcome Inn on Darkside for Sunday Roast. Had the mixed meat for 260B. Outstanding value and enjoyable meal, could not fault it. Welcome Inn has A/C and had about 6 or 7 punter

It can be a good thing.

I know a few guys who hate their wife.  Sick of looking at them and hearing them talk and disgusted watching them eat.

These places can be a perfect break from relationship annoyance.

I have a solution, just do exactly what you did with the last one - and for some - the 3 before that

better still - realise that it was never meant to be and stay on your own

Use the dividers to play ping pong.  If the dividers are too high play volleyball or beer pong.  Loser pays.

I have seen some customers remove the divider and sit and staff did nothing.. but that is likely to vary place to place. I had hoped this silliness would be resolved and tables for couples and family groups become available, or put together on request.

hello, i only want to eat at restaurants where the kitchen is open and cook can be seen.

I know only foodland and kiss where we can see the kitchen.

I think it should be a rule in 2020, i do not trust anyone about hygiene, especially now.

do you know any other restaurants with open kitchen ?

what i never found is indian restaurant with open kitchen and I am sure that it is because they have too much dirty things to hide...

any help ?

thank you.

Hello

Indian by nature (not far from Panpan on the opposite side of the road) has a kitchen only separated by glass from the restaurant.. you can see the cooks prepare your food, without getting smoke or smell..

I don t agree with your comment about "dirty" indians anyway.. and I lived 6 years in India.

Have a nice day

Surprised to read that, but 6 years is more than my time from 2 x 2 month visits, complete with food poisoning.

But you can't see if the cooks wash their hands after a toilet break.

in my opinion any staff from any restaurant or bar should wash hands publicly after going to toilet, or at least use gel in front of customers before going back to kitchen.

but of course we are living a world where most people accept that the correct things are not done properly, so i am hopeless actually !

You are the one who does not know what he is talking about.. I had a mixed raita in IBN 3 days ago.. 120 bahts  (easy to check in their website, where they give menu and prices) and for a very large one, double of what you normally get in other restaurants.. I had dinner there more than 60 times in the last 3 years, always fresh, tasty and well prepared..

If you expect to eat for 50 bahts, then go to a rat hole and don t complain about filth and low quality

Red Steps has reopened, on Beach Road between sois 1 and 2.  All outdoor seating, lots of room for social distancing, 25% discount on all food and drink, good sunset views.  They could sure use some customers.

They are attached to an hotel so can likely gauge the level of future business on the strength of bookings. I wish them well.

I went to Cheap Charlies today for their Cod and Chips (99 Baht with Reward Card). I normally eat there once a week on Fridays. It's a small portion but I find it's enough for me.

Today the chips were under cooked. I called the waitress over and she took the plate back to the kitchen. A few minutes later she brought the plate back and they were still under cooked, so back to the kitchen. This time when she brought the plate back the chips were perfect.

A couple of minutes later I noticed my bill had disappeared. She came over and said "no charge", and that included the coffee I had as well.  Most impressed, not only did they fix the problem but they made a fan out of me.  I will be back.

But you paid for it anyway, surely?

No, but I doubled the size of the tip I normally give.

I'd be unimpressed if it took them 3 attempts to cook a chip, but you obviously think you got a result saving a few baht.  #Soi Buakoaw

Hi, any place where to eat at night now ? or they all still close early ? thanks.

That looks pretty good for LOS Sunday roast cooked fare.  My only minor niggle is the plate should have been piled with three Yorkshires.

Where has Jingthing gone? This thread used to be about quick reviews of new places to eat, but it now has turned into a British breakfast thread. I miss the old thread.

So why not post a couple  "...quick reviews of new places to eat..." and get the old thread back going?

On the Darkside - Soi Siam Country Club

"La Costa" at Mitkamol Crossroad,

mostly Thai dishes, nothing spectacular, but nice place, with soft Jazz music in the background.

Also only drinks available.

" Pum Pui's", pizzeria,

French guy left, but ultimately taken over.

Daily bread available ( Excellent ).

" Nong Bistro "

reopen 01 July.

Oh, come on.

I love hearing and seeing canned beans, pork blood black pudding. bangers, runny eggs, and greasy deep fried toast.

And don't forget the bubble and squeak.

Just keep an open mind. ????

Still doing delivery food, thank you very much.

Nicky's, Soi Bukhaow. Between the hospital and Tai.

Chose items off the breakfast menu: bacon, egg, sausage, black pud, mushrooms and fried bread, which comprised of 2 enormous slices which were too much for me. That is my only minor gripe. The food was very well cooked and was good quality. Tea was very generous but I still managed an extra cup. Though quite early in the morning the place was busy and is clearly popular.

All staff were polite and pleasant, including the English lady owner.

Price was 190 Baht but good value for me. I will return to try other meals.
