There's plenty of people who call Thailand their home so let;s cut to the chase with a hypothetical question. If Thailand was invaded and thus at war, and needed your help, would you join the army and fight for it if you could, or would you claim its not your country and leave it to the Thais?

People do, I hear it all the time that Thailand is ''their' home. It's a serious question that I often ask such people and get a less than convincing answer along the lines of '...oh I don't know about that'.

3. Is my family in danger?

I would fight guerrila style to protect my home and family if I had not managed to get them out. However, anything else, no I wouldn't. As stated before by many, the country leaders make you feel as welcome as a fart in a lift.

^{FYI, a number of Lao-Hmong refugees from Laos} 30-40 years ago did get Thai citizenship via their fighting the CTs up in Petchabun, Khao Kor area, in the late '70s, so the possibility exists.

One of the reasons why proper Army's have min & max height restrictions is to ensure that their clothing & equipment range fits everyone; I cant see a Thai QM stocking boots that would fit any of us!

to protect my wife and family without a doubt. All the thai men would run and hide if someone actually threatened them back plus all the rich/politicians would leave the country so there is no way I would do anything for them but I would for my family.

Of course I would I have a wife and 2 kids here, a house and good friends, IDE also go home to the UK if someone invaded
