Is it a comedy?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sounds like it should be but actually not.

A group of actors playing a fictional family in small town Wisconsin on a mission to highlight every diversity known to man !!

From IMDB:

“ Sure, it won plenty of awards, but it was one huge liberal preach every episode. From AIDS-infected dentists to lesbian daughters and animal rights to reproductive rights, I had to brace myself for the social commentary at the onset of every episode. The acting was decent, and the writing was okay when it wasn’t shoving the writer’s political beliefs down your throat, but ultimately “Picket Fences” was a show made for its time alone. “

I gave up on Animal Kingdom the first time round and really wish I hadn't on reflection. it's based on an Australian film of the same name.

I gave it another go and ended up binge watching the first three seasons. Ellen Barkin is just creepy with her 'hey Bay-bees' talking to her grown up sons and you just know there has been some mommy stuff going on in the past but it pulls together well.

Some stunning Latina actresses but they are all over shadowed by Nepali-Tibetan/German-Australian actress Dichen Lachman who, although a bit flat chested, is absolutely stunning. Season 4 is now in production.

Not watched it yet but got some good reviews is Michael Portillo's Great Canadian Railway Journeys. He's a bit of an odd character but they scenery will be stunning. 15 parts available on the net.

The whole series (22) of Silent Witness is available from the usual suspects. Enjoyed it, with a few nice views of London & Brighton.

ep1 available on magnet dl (and others I am sure)

Can't find American Islands on IMDB, nor is there any mention of this show under Martin Clunes on IMDB.

Never been a big fan of Queen but watched Bohemian Rhapsody last night- wow!

Rami did a great job there I enjoyed it because I once met them all before the Title track had hit it big-time.

Shameless season 9.

Much as I like Macy I could never take to this series after the superb job done by David Threlfall in the original version. I found the characters a bit too PC in the US version and not as willing to push the boundaries. Frank was probably one of the best British characters of its time.

Wouldn't go as far as to say he's "one of the best British characters of its time", but, light years better than the US version.

Actually, can anyone say that a US series based on a British series is better than the original?

There's all sorts of good series made in both countries and if someone doesn't like one, then, well you know...

Fell off the better call Saul bandwagon, but started watching again. So slow. Did they not pay the writers enough?

Never got past the 6th episode. Exactly as you say too slow.

Fair enough.

Mum isn't new by the way, it was from 2016.

Maybe one of the few remakes that worked well to me was the first couple of seasons of House of Cards. Spacey was superb. The final season was dross and I binned it after two episodes.

Going back in time All in the Family was the US version of til Death do us Part and pretty good for its time.
