Southern police chief: Enough evidence in British tourists' murder case to make arrest now

Pol Lt-Gen Panya Mamen, commissioner of the Eighth Region Police Command, said the police have now detained all the suspects for questioning, and now have gained evidences of who are the murderer or murderers.

There is more than one, he said, and expressed confidence they will be arrested and charged within this week, he added.

Two mutually exclusive statements.

Well done!

A wristband might have helped identify the latest foreigner to be murdered off Koh Samet

http://www.khaosodenglish.com/detail.php?newsid=1412007544&typecate=06&section=

Strange that he was dressed the same as Sean when he left Koh Tao

The question now is, did Sean actually leave Thailand?

Is there a link about this body found off Koh Samet that I keep hearing about? I read about the one found on Phuket the other day. Surely someone's got the details wrong about Samet.

This is the link..

It covers the rape of the Russian lady and also the finding of the body found floating off the coast of Koh Samet.

I have only see a couple of references to this discovery, and possibly the police are keeping it quiet for obvious reasons.

There was danish woman raped in pattaya yesterday...

Conspiracy theory

No conspiracy theory here mate, just a simple question!

Jeez, if your boy Sean Mc turned up bludgeoned and dumped in the sea that would be a whole new can of worms, and black eye for any detractors to the theory that he did indeed know something. Anyway, i did say IF

Well maybe someone can identify what route that ferry he is boarding goes on i.e. straight to the main land or south to Koh Samet

I think it was mentioned some where that the body found was about 50 yet the body of the woman that just washed up on a beach they couldn't tell if she was 15 or 40.

Hard to say anything, as he was boarding a Lomprayah katamaran as they travel both to Suratthani - via Phangan and Samui - and to Chumphon (which actually has an island named Ko Samet, belonging to Mu Ko Chumphon national park, though not to be mixed with the Ko Samet in Rayong province, much closer to BKK)

So I'm quite puzzled where they actually found the body - in Rayong or Chumphon - before jumping to any conclusions (and yea they both exist on the gulf of thailand - which doesn't really narrow the place down at all x)

"If there are mafias"

The police denying there even are mafias on Koh Tao is a sure sign this is a cover up. Have they even bothered questioning the ones in the bar brawl or the ones chasing the remaining witness? This is a joke.

What bar brawl?

I wonder where the son is by now, he has had an 8 day head start....

The whole country was looking for him for 8 days, and suddenly he shows up in Bangkok saying, "Here I am."

Look at the news posts from the clowns in brown. They were on the right track and suddenly derailed by bribe money. Disgusting RTP.

if this be be proved and it's the truth....CONGRATS, Thai police !

That will be the day. I won't be surprised if police rules this a suasid

In hindsight, that was a huge IF sawadee1974 proposed. Don't you know already that the RTP never tell the truth? Here it is over a month since you posted and the circus that has ensued. What turned the heat off the Tuwichian family? whistling.gif Why were they suddenly the hot suspects and then just as quickly dismissed?

Is it just me, or do you get the feeling that the real killers ( if there really are Mafias here!??!) will get off scot free and the charged will be some poor despot, that gets framed coffee1.gif

HA! You called it, sir. Nicely done.

one hopes this is not hollow promise that will come back to haunt them again, like a few other statements that have been made surrounding this case

I think all of his confidence stemmed from the buckets of cash he got from the family who actually killed David and Hannah. Yep, he was confident.

I think he was confident after he received his share of the payoff money from the family on KT who actually committed these heinous crimes. Yep, he was confident.
