How to take a 5mt kayak from Hua Hin to Krabi?

It's not heavy (26kg) but it's long (520cm). I asked to Hua Hin Post office, They no have a truck big enough :-0

I asked to TNT but I am waiting an answer, probably too expensive.

Maybe by train to Suratthani and then by car to Krabi. a bit complicated

Or I can take it to BKK airport (how?) and fly to Krabi with Thai Airways ( I know it's possible to transport a kayak as personal baggage), too complicated.

I have a car but it's too old and expensive for such a long trip.

Maybe there is a transport company in Hua Hin, but I don't know where.

Any advice?

Thank you very much

Hop onto your motorbike with 2 buddies to hold the kayak and ride down there. It almost worked for these three muppets who thought it'd be a good idea to use this method to move 5m poles.

Go to the bus station with the non airconditioned busses. They will strap it on the roof. You can have someone collect it but it is probably best if you make the bus trip with it.

I'v never met a pick-up remover over here yet (motorbike Taxi ranks or those that stick their services on poles and walls everywhere) that couldn't arrange to move anything from a needle to a haystack.

Transport companies are moving furniture and lumber from Chiang Mai to Phuket every day ... moving companies are loading up entire house-holds of furniture to transport every day ... there are many options, just contact any of the major transport companies. And it's also not too expensive to do in Thailand. ... it's reliable, despite the snide remarks above.

Excellent call harry clap2.gif Any "Green Machine" or "Orange Crush"

will handle the matter no problem. If it fits on top, they will

carry it and it will be far less expensive than any of the transport

The bus is the cheapest solution and maybe working. If you don't trust that, a simple lorry will do the job. We had one for moving with 10m length and of course there are smaller ones, too.

If you have nothing else to transport than the kayak, you can also ask the lorry company for other customers, who have the same way, and move together. Moving to Krabi should happen more often.

The company we used at Samui is driving to Phuket several times per week, theres a lot of moving around here :-)

If possible, please name lorry companies that do household moves to/from Hua Hin. Thanks!

I am afraid, I cannot name company and phone number, but on our search at samui we simply asked the locals for transport companies in our area. Most of them are not exactly moving companies, but do any kind of transportation including big parcels and pallets, that some companies not ship with the post, but with private transportation companies. So even if locals not know them as a moving company, they know them for transportation of any goods.

I was also going to suggest this, Harry beat me to it.

Row.

A kayak is a paddle boat not a rowing boat.

I was thinking english ppl know the difference, but probably you are not from england, are you? whistling.gif
