Today is the 17th January , pretty safe to assume he is already long gone even more so if he was on 30 day stamp

PS. Hotel is liable 101% for the theft as retarded staff gave access to unregistered guest

I suppose there's as much danger in taking a bloke you've picked up in a bar and taking them to your hotel room as there is doing it with a bargirl. Hotel should have asked the falang for some sort if identification like they do with the girls.

in your dreams !!

LOL....perhaps you might wish to explain what 'grindr' is to the uninformed ?? lol.....

But makes sense they were two muslim gay guys escaping the harsh reality of being gay in a muslim country.

Liable for 101% - do you mean 101% of the loss and they will reimburse?

Assuming the staff aren't retarded....does that make them less liable or more liable?

Or do you mean they will feel really bad about it, say sorry, and it won't happen again?

The victim may indeed regret having his name published if his orientation is a secret at home, but being gay in Dubai or Abu Dhabi while not an easy existence by any means, with a bit of common sense discretion it's not necessarily all that "harsh" either. Certainly not as rough as in allegedly Christian countries like Uganda now or even the UK where people were put in prison or forced to have chemical castration if gay pre-1967.

There were a number of gay students at the university in Abu Dhabi that everyone knew about when I was there, including a member of the royal family. Gay Filipina women consider it a safe haven if they can get work as maids there since nobody cares what they get up to as long as they're reasonably discreet. One club in Dubai even advertised a "gay" night club event a few years ago. The authorities cancelled it, but only because it was a bit too public for local sensibilities and the ads were anything but discreet.

The Sultan of Oman is widely assumed to be gay and Iran is second only to Thailand in the number of sex reassignment surgeries ... and they're paid for by the state. Of course, in Iran anyone determined to be gay is "encouraged" to get the surgery even if they're not all that keen to do so.

Not saying being gay and Muslim is a piece of cake, but reality isn't always quite as bad as some headline incidents make it out to be. Usually the biggest problem is from the person's own family, but that's often true in the enlightened west too.

You have a good point, although in this case the victim was lapse too.

These guys from the richer Arab countries often have no concept of distrust and thieving.

Did I miss something?

I didn't notice anything in the link stating the sexuality of the suspect.

Just being a good looking man doesn't mean you're gay, not that there's anything wrong with that (being good looking or gay).
