Bronze statues of two great kings arrive in Hua Hin

HUA HIN: -- The 30-ton bronze statue each of the two great kings arrived at Ratchaphakdi park in Hua Hin late Monday night after a long journey from Ayutthaya and Pathumthani provinces.

The arrival of the statutes of King Rama I and King Rama IV were welcomed by the director of the Ratchaphakdi park Lt Gen Suthat Charumanee, and commander of the Army Non Commissioned Officer School Maj Gen Dr Sanya Chansa-nguan as they arrived at 8.30 PM last night.

The senior army officers and staff and all craftsmen stood in line as a gesture of honour as the statues slowly entered the school’s gate.

The statute of King Narai the Great will be installed on the foundation late this afternoon alongside the statutes of King Ramkhamhaeng and King Naresuan already installed on foundations.

Its on the Pranburi road over the flyover next to the army base the burst water main at the side of the road on Sunday was much more impressive with a jet of water about 30mts high passed it at 9.30am still going full bore at 3.30pm. Who said there,s a water shortage

Installations of king statutes in progress before official opening August 19

HUA HIN: -- As the August 19 official opening of the Ratchaphakdi museum park in Hua Hin where the seven giant 30-ton each bronze statutes of the Thai kings from the Sukhothai to Rattanakosin periods are to be installed is imminent, the Royal Thai Army personnel and civilian craftsmen are working around the clock to install the statutes on the foundation bases.

The opening of the park to be highlighted by the sacred worship ceremony for the Thai great kings in history will be chaired by Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha.

So far four bronze statutes of the kings were installed on bases at the park which is inside the Army Non Commissioned Officers School in Hua Hin.They are King Ramkhamhaeng, King Naresuan, King Narai, and King Taksin.

Today King Rama V statute will be installed on the base .

Yesterday the Army performed a rite to install the statue of fabled King Taksin on the foundation while the bronze statue of King Rama V from Bang Bon molding factory in Bangkok arrived at the site last night. The ceremony lasted 18 minutes.

The statutes of King Rama I and King Rama IV are now being decorated and will be transported this week to Hua Hin, ready before the opening ceremony on August 19.

Last king statue arrives in Hua Hin for installation

HUA HIN: -- The last convoy carrying a 30-ton weight and 14 meters high bronze statue of King Rama V, the final newly-crafted seventh giant Thai King statue, has arrived at Ratchaphakdi museum park in Hua Hin district of Prachuap Khiri Khan province late today for installation prior to an opening of the army-built park on August 19.

A brief ceremony to pay respect to the king statue was held as the statue entered the park.

Lieutenant General Sutat Jarumanee, head of the 222-rai park led senior army officers and army non-commissioned officer students to pay respect to the king statue.

King Rama V or King Chulalongkorn statue will be the last statute o the seven statues to be installed on the foundation, Lt Gen Sutat said.

An installation ceremony for the statue is set to take place on August 9.

So far, four of the giant bronze king statues have already been installed on their base in the park.

He said that an installation ceremony for King Rama I or King Buddha Yodfa Chulalok statue will be held tomorrow.

The senior army officer also said an installation ceremony for King Rama IV or King Mongkut statue will be held on August 9.

He said after all the giant king statues are installed on their bases, crafters will make final check on them for the worship ceremony on August 19 when Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will preside over.
