Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha will visit flood victims in hard-hit Sakon Nakhon province on Wednesday.

He is scheduled to fly out of Bangkok at 7.30am that day to hear reports on the flooding situation in Sakon Nakon from local officials and the Royal Irrigation Department’s chief.

At 9am, he will visit flood-hit locals and hand out relief items. HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn has already had a kitchen set up there to serve free food to flood victims.

At 9.35am, the prime minister will inspect Big Cleaning Day activities in Muang Sakon Nakhon Municipality area, where floodwaters have already subsided. From there, he will travel to heavily flooded areas by boat.

At 10.35am, he will visit a main bridge damaged by floodwater.

Prayut will also inspect the Huai Sai Khamin Dyke, which needs repair. Damage to this dyke was blamed for serious floods in Sakon Nakhon province. As of publication time, the dyke was almost dry.

At 12.30pm, Prayut will fly out of Sakon Nakhon and head back to Bangkok.

brilliant tell him to bring his waders with him. never could understand why the people

in power have to go to the scene of a disaster  do they not have government people

in the area who can inform them of what is required

Judging by the photo, it is to demonstrate to everyone that the PM understands where the offending surplus water came from, and to make sure everyone knows the national finger pointing code of conduct. Oh, and to get a whole lot of "face", from showing how much he cares about making the people happy by driving round in a boat and doing a whole load more finger pointing for the assembled media. Perhaps he'll be so kind as to write a new poem on the topics of floods. Bless.

Probably he will blaim the previous governement that they did not do there job well and that is the reason for the flooding.

He normally conducts his aerobics class on wednesdays..........must be serious to miss this :whistling:

The same everywhere.

The fat cats have to show up at the scene without any practical use, having no clue.

Wearing the wrong gum boots might lead to a PR disaster (Yingluck with her fashion boots).

Wearing the right gear gives good photos for the election campaign.

Though only if there is an election

It is the same in any country. Political leaders have to show up, as if they do not, people will complain they are not doing anything.

Then again, by the looks of this thread, people will complain if they do show up as well. Just no winning sometimes with some people.

SAKON NAKHON: -- Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha visited Sakon Nakhon – the hardest-hit province in recent flooding in the northeast – on Wednesday.

Prayut landed in an Air Force plane at the Sakon Nakhon International Airport at 9.30am, and was welcomed by Sakon Nakhon Governor Witthaya Chanchalong, who briefed him on the situation.

Prayut was also briefed by Royal Irrigation Department director-general Sanchai Ketuworachai, who said officials were racing against time to drain flood water from the Nong Han lake to Lam Nam Kam canal to the Mekong, via Nakhon Phanom.

Prayut said that His Majesty the King had concerns for the people affected by the on-going flooding and had told the government to help the people.

The King also granted necessities and sent his officials to cook food for the people of Sakon Nakhon.

Prayut said the government had approved an extra budget to provide rehabilitation for flood victims.

Dear Sir

The idea is to drain flood water - not increase it

At least they used the new fancy boats when he arrived.

The photos are so touching... I'm almost crying seeing the dear leader to inspect rice quality and spraying water around /in flood area/

I'm not a fan of P Man but he's certainly outdone Theresa May on this one.

Well that's not difficult, is it?....
