That's sort of naive statement, Kadilo. In thailand everybody is scamming everybody all right? Everybody in Thailand knows this but they don't talk about it openly. Buy a piece of land someone scam you, buy a house someone scam you, take a simple tour of Ayuthaya some idiots try to scam you.

Scamming is like a profession in both Thailand and Laos. I was in Laos oh they really good at it. The Laotians appear so humble and innocent you wouldn't think they are capable of scamming you. Buddha wasted his time he would have done himself a lot of good if he just became a recluse somewhere in the caves in the Himalayas.

T-shirts will sell with "Don't waste your time

                                      I know every scam"

so what,s your scam then

Don't spend what you can't afford to just toss in the air and walk away from whilst saying "pfft."

Doesn't matter if you are Thai or a foreigner, it holds true for both here. This Thai guy (the pig farmer), I would hazard a guess at, that he was trying to throw around his face as the big man courting some so-called "pretty" to round off his existence etc. in his own mind and I bet he had his reasons for doing it.

Give him credit though for not just having a tantrum and throwing the teddy out of the pram and start shooting people...refreshing that he actually went to the cops about it...haha

It is a pity they blurred her face out, some here might know her too!

the chances of him getting his money back .....  ???

From a pig farmer .....   pigs might fly first  ...

Image result for cartoon pics of flying pigs

Not really exclusive to Thailand or even the female of the species. I have a mate here who has promised marriage to many a Thai girl. I have seen bar-girls hooking up with him for free because of the marriage promise, and worse, he has convinced nicer Thai girls (saving it for marriage) to have a sexual relationship because they are getting married soon.

I'm not sure about Thailand but in the west people can, and do, sue for breech of contract. Give back all the toasters and clock radios.

Pig Farming seems to pay well.

He willingly gave her the money in expectation of marriage, Did he have that in writing?

She had every intention of marrying him but changed her mind at the last minute because she did not like the smell of pigs and was thinking of becoming a Muslim.

What do you mean? I scam someone? In the southern hemisphere I am the master of all the scammers. Being the Master of all Scammers you don't scam anyone because you go beyond that. Master of all Scammers has dignity and pride so don't tell him to do some little small scamming job. (anything below 3 million euro dollars is not even considered, you got that?)

Hope the pretty  is caught by this  jilted lover and he can get her picture and his story out locally

and shame her where she lives.

Since it seems that he has not had much help from the police.

Geezer

 You don't think where she lives they might be helping her spend the money? A person gives anybody money, that is their choice. If their expectations are not met, little recourse. A bit of a blow for the guy, but the milk is spilt.

A pig farmer from Lamphun has 1 million baht to blow on a "pretty" from a "well known spa."

I guess I chose the wrong line of work...  Here piggy piggy!!!!

I've always said it's best to avoid the pretty ones, and just stick to pigs!

Obviously, it's not just foreigners that are targeted by these cretins
