I'm an insomniac, sleep walk from time to time, and do some stupid stuff after certain amount of days without any sleep, so it's not too "outlandish" for me to think that his defence could have been plausible. Looking at the video it just seems the guy was intoxicated, had poor judgement, crashed the car and tried to escape accountability - so  I think his story is bullcrap.

"I'm not on drugs".

Well, I guess one starts with "sleep walking" and soon that's not enough.

One moves on to "sleep stealing",

then "sleep driving",

followed by "sleep evading arrest."

Shithole excuse but likely true. Amerikans seem to be having a bad run of it lately. If I were still living there, I think I'd try to stay asleep as well...at least until 2020 when Wavy Gravy officially becomes Amerika's 46th president.

I would be also checking the staff at the car yard. What are the odds staff advertently leaving keys in the car on the night this guy decides to go sleep walking.

That must mean that there actually ain´t any problem with driving education. It´s just that people must be awake during the lessons.

We used to only worry about Drink Drivers, now have Sleep Drivers to contend with  =  God help us all.
