Did they do it or not?

They are Burmese case closed, serious jail time for them.

They said it was consensual, so they certainly shagged the girl.  Its the consensual bit that needs to be clarified.. 2nd thoughts on her part maybe.

Well if your A&$%S is on the line & had very little in life looking at 20 yrs, wouldn't you try it on. As you mentioned just needs to be clarified & after watching the police make them do the re enactment on the news, I have a funny feeling it might not go their way

Yes i agree with you, but my point was they are Burmese, so in the eyes of Thai justice they are guilty.

That's an interesting question

Must of been a whole 20 mtrs away behind the shop (maybe also an external rear door for the shop as well )

Wouldn't one think it was strange that the whole 3 of them followed her to the toilet

Where were the sounds of screaming or a struggle before the time they had to (maybe ) gag her

So during the struggle how long would it of taken 3 men to rape her ( maybe longer then 5 minutes )

At that stage it seems like her boyfriend wasn't worried

..maybe he had three drinks lined up.

Some women do take along time in the bathroom and if the bathroom was located behind the restaurant the boy friend never would have seen them follow.  Very sad that she did not fight them probably already had victim written all over her.

You mean you don't think the court will just fine them up B40,000, as allowed by law and let them off the up to 20 year sentence because they had exemplary records as construction workers.

It seems rather odd that the victim would have agreed to consensual sex with three construction workers in a toilet while her boyfriend was waiting.

Could be a cultural thing.  She thought she was having a friendly chat over a drink, but from the little I know of the Burmese culture, any woman who did that there WOULD be looking for more.  An American probably wouldn't have known that.

As to whether it was forced though.................?

. . . what is the outcome to expect ?

Are you serious? Do you imagine any woman out with her boyfriend would choose to be gang-raped by three total strangers in a toilet?

I can almost hear Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein applauding you from the wings.

Apparently my dear poster,  you are totally unaware of the behavioural patterns linked to causality (more commonly referred as cause and effect), so it will be a bit hard to carry on this conversation with you. Thank you for your tabloid references nevertheless...

She went to the restroom where the 3 Burmese allegedly followed and "gang raped" her......so what was the boyfriend doing during this time and was he not alarmed when the men all left at a similar time to her.....strange :whistling:

I assume it is a mens restroom as well at the same location means it not strange that it is a mixed trafic to and from the restrooms.

I assume the bf were busy With his phone chatting in line or surfing on internet which is pretty normal nowadays....:coffee1:

You can run but you can't hide your pathetic attempt at victim blaming.

what was the boyfriend doing in the meantime? I suppose the 3 weren't as fast as "Speedy Gonzales"? So it would have taken a while. And why she was not screaming? Or lock the door? Very strange.

We don't know if there is any evidence from any side...?

She is american, so probably not too smart and most probable lying...

Too many so-called facts do not add up:
- 3 guys gang rape her in a new world record in a tiny space

- bf story is hard to believe (I assume he is american as well)

- No sounds?!? (screaming out of fear/pleasure)

- No fighting from girl?!?

It just doesn't add up....

All I can say is, I had many tourist visits to Thailand as an American before moving here. And of all those, I can't ever remember one time where I ended up sitting at a mini-mart/grocery store drinking and socializing (?) with three Burmese construction workers, or any Burmese construction workers for that matter. I must have missed that part of the tourist routine.

Not unusual for Thais drinking out front near roadside to invite you to join them, happened to me many many times when working in Bangkok and also in my village now.  Burmese construction workers I cant say but wouldnt imagine any different especially if they have been here a while.  Maybe I just have a friendly face.

Did anybody notice the last sentence of the Khao Sod article?

"Khaosod English does not reveal the identity of potential victims of sexual violence. " ??????

If all sat together and were chatting the lady had to use the toilet and the three  Burmese gents also disappeared?

Okay, maybe her boyfriend is blind, then all makes sense.
