He's asked the fans to stop booing the CL and support it better in the past. Don't know why he has said what he said about the upcoming league match as we have good crowds for league matches, particularly saturday afternoon ones. The 2 home games this season we have had circa 52,000 fans attend. He's annoyed quite a few fans with his remarks.

Honestly mate. I really wish you'd pack it in telling us how important something is to you. We don't have the same love affair with those crooks at UEFA that you have. Countless times I have told you that to the majority of CIty fans the PL is NUMBER ONE priority, CL is a big bonus. They have screwed our fans and the club over several times. I'll be honest, the main reason I want to win it now is to shut up people like you and then we can get on with concentrating on the PL. Too many people but an emphasis on a knockout comp

Exactly, you've told me that and I believe you. But it looks like Pep doesn't see it like that.

You jumping on the RAG bandwagon now bud?

Sorry bud....I have an inkling he might rest Torres against Soton so I may be number 7 in line if he gets a 1 pointer in the FPL????

It's not up to Pep how our fans feel. We were here before him and will be long after he's gone. That said, he is saying that his words are being lost in translation.

fI don't need to go into our support base but I will touch on some points. We will have 50+ thousand today and do for the majority of weekend league matches. So he was an idiot even mentioning today's game. Lost in translation or not. As for the other night. There are several reason's for the low attendance.

Not in any particular order.

Our new ticketing system was a mess meaning season ticket holders couldn't do swaps and let their seats go to non season ticket holders. This was only fixed the day before and resulted in an apology from the club.

As mentioned before, some fans just ain't bothered about CL.

We know how fan base isn't as big as United's and have never claimed it to be. Unlike United, we also don't have the "tourist fans". Our fans are mainly local working class supporters who don't have the dosh to buy extra tickets. This pandemic has cost a lot of people a lot of money. Have you no sympathy for people being skint?

Lastly, mid-week games are always harder to sell out due to people working (maybe away),  school nights for kids coupled with it being on TV.

They are just a few of the reasons for the perceived "low" turnout of 38,000

Got exactly what we deserved from that lack lustre performance. Can't remember the last time we only had one shot on target but that was down to Southampton's excellent game plan which they executed really well. We stepped it up after KdB, Mahrez and Foden came on but Southampton remained focused.

How in God's name was that penalty and red was reversed? Walker is such an average player, he just runs fast, that's it

Wasn't a nailed on pen that, so ref rightfully had a look. Seen them given, seen them not given.

You mean three Premier League medals, four EFL Cup medals and one FA Cup medal Kyle Walker? ???? All that said, he can be a tad clumsy at times

It wasn't a glaring error, so it should not have been reversed.

David May and Ryan Bertrand have a few decent medals, they were bang average too.  ????????‍♂️

Southgate thinks Trent should be a central attacking midfielder, he's got no idea.

TBF, I don't think he does think that. I think it was a matter of play there or you sit on the bench

If that's the case then play him in a deeper role, where he can spray balls around, cut passes through, like he does from a deeper wide role.  Or just play the best right back in his right position instead of that flog.

Red card was issued, so I thought VAR can be used. Then after looking at VAR he overturned it

I interpretation is the penalty should stand if there is no clear and obvious error by the ref, no need for VAR on that decision. The red card could still be checked and rescinded.

I agree with you on this. VAR could well have looked at the incident as two separate issues. Decided that a Red Card was  too severe and therefore rescinded but that it was not a clear error to award the penalty itself so that part of the decision should have stood.

Quite a number of incidences of VAR rubbish this weekend. After the 'joy' of watching it implemented correctly and efficiently in the Euros, we are back to English referees and their mates screwing things up again.

But the red card was given for the refs perceived interpretation of the incident. If the red was overturned, then that confirms he had misinterpreted the incident in the first place. You can't rescind the red and still give the penalty.

Anyway. It's so stupid that Dermot Gallagher thinks the decision was right to overturn it but Keith Hackett thinks the red and penalty should have stood. If 2 ex-ref's can't agree we have no chance of agreeing

You can mate. IMO the foul didn't justify a red under the 'double jeapardy' rule but it was still a foul so the pen should have stood. Still; God only knows what Jon Moss's interpretation actually was!

That's where we are in disagreement. Walker got in front of Armstrong and then he kicked Walker in the back of the calf. Moss reviewed it and looks like that's what he also saw. I really wish referee's would be allowed to comment after the game on decisions they have made. Particularly contentious ones. They are micked up so sure there is a log of their decisions and conversations

Defo agree on that one. Wonder what they are scared of?????

Didn't get to watch the game but it was a very young line up that beat Wycombe 6-1. Not including those two 21 year old veterans Foden and Torres, we had 5 young lads playing who had to get permission to stay up late. Conrad Egan-Riley, 18. Finley Burns also 18. Luke Mbete just 18 this week. Josh Wilson-Esbrand again 18 and Romeo Lavia who is only 17. Not only was it good that they get some "man's" game time but they all scored 7's and 8's in player ratings.

19 y.o Cole Palmer replaced Torres and 18 y.o. James McAtee replaced Wilson-Esbrand. This lad is supposed to be one to look out for. His nickname is Salford Silva and he apparently turned United down for City.

Hope I can find a replay somewhere
