Voting is still in its early stages, though it has to said that right now, Colinneils skinny legs are looking set to be wearing the shiny tights come the end of the year. Looking through the field, it is hard to find a real worthy challenger. There are some good posters in the running, and more than a couple whose chief qualifications are the amount of times they have been warned for trolling, and one in real danger of being banned before the final results are known.

I make no secret of my support for Colin. When I first joined the forum he was one of the posters I really liked and nothing has changed really. Sure he can be a grumpy old sod some days, but then, so can we all. I have noticed that when Colin gets stuck into someone, they normally fully deserve everything he dishes out. I not only admire his posting, and his humour, but also the way he deals with his personal situation. Colin is the real deal where being a man and facing life head on is concerned.

I would like to hope that members voting in this preliminary round and the subsequent final, will be unlike the voters in the U.S. and UK and get it right. 2018 is the year for Colinneil to receive the POTY award, which given his years of service to the forum, he justly deserves.

( I will send you the bill later Colin! :cheesy:)

Seriously, he was a grumpy old bar steward in 2007 and he remains the same today.

He is the real deal, like it or not.

Becoming paraplegic has not changed that; what it has changed is his humility and values. He now has a genuine caring for people - unless  those people happen to be one of his Thai in laws! ????

I am proud to call him my friend.

Group 1

Nyezhov lost no time in hitting the front, and is a strong contender/ Witty, informative and always willing to help, this relative newcomer is going to be tough to beat. Word has it he is primed for a late surge.

As with the previous year, Baboon is hot on the front runner's heels, and will likely remain there, dodging the insults and using every opportunity to sway the voter. I feel he has learned a valuable lesson from the past few epic contests, and is more adept at creating subtle conflict among his rivals' supporters. Expect him to be on the podium, you can stick the month's rent on that!

Group 2

As expected, early polls put colinneil storming out of the blocks, which is mainly due to his consistent joviality and determination, refusing to settle for anything less than happiness, and, of course, one mustn't forget the extremely informative posts that he put in during the past year. Wheelchair permitting, you could be looking at the winner, and some would say it is his to lose.

Chomper Higgot is the surprise of the start, and with a firm manifesto and the local support, Chomper bites down and doesn't usually let go. Looking for some more input from him as the race progresses.

Group 3

Billd766 is a nose in front of pib, with NCC1701A neck and neck with RonniePickering22, making for an exciting start. Some of these guys have little practical experience in the cutthroat underworld on POTY, but each possesses the grit to take on the challenge. Word in the paddock is that RonniePickering22 has something up his sleeve and after last year's late push, he's the one to watch from this group.

More later ...

Billd766 didn't even know that he was nominated in any group and still has no idea what the difference between groups 1, 2 and 3 is.

Thank you to all 3 of my fans who nominated me whoever they are.

Got that excited after reading Darksidedog, and Jipp posting humbling words about me.

I went outside, and my bloody wheelchair collapsed, had to call the wife come home, get me into my spare chair.

Her first words were, no more french fry, no more bacon butties for you fatty.????

Oh, so rude!!

Perhaps your dear wife doesn't know the words: 'portly' or 'excessively stout'.....

Maybe though, because soon you will be wearing those stained pink tights, you ought to just eat vegetables from now on...?

Or embrace the hidden Social Justice Warrior within you & become....

Vegan!!

Lord, give the poor man a break. Suggest taking away one of the few pleasures in life and worse, going all the way to the V word. What should he do next? Give up drinking? :cheesy:

Nah he just needs to upgrade his ride !

Move on to HGC Colin, "heavy goods chair" ! And dont forget to upgrade the tyres we dont want a repeat of the Big C incident.

Is that a cheque or a Czech?

What is happening here. Apart from group 3 (sorry build) the donkey vote is not working. Are the TVF voters actually informed, intelligent, enlightened and serious people?

Feel sorry for all the people who landed up in group 2. Might as well have eliminated them, when Colinneil landed in that group. ????????

I guess it is luck of the draw....like the Champions league - you don’t want to be grouped with Barcelona.

Not it that I am comparing Colinneil with the Spanish champions..... he is from Preston for goodness sake.

Well, it wouldn't be an interesting competition unless someone screwed it up, so here I am.   I printed out all the names and set up the polls.   Now I see it was 2 pages of names and I only added the first page....so, there are two more groups that you can vote on:

I'll see if I can lock it for comment, so we can keep the discussion here, but please go vote on that poll as well.

i did kinda wonder what had happened to the rest ?, thought you had limited the number of nominees , never mind, can't see it having any effect on the outcome personally.
