Footage posted to Facebook showed a man on a motorcycle standing on the seat and going along in downtown Chiang Mai.

Jenjira Suphan, 31, said she was with her husband taking their daughter to school. It was in the area of Moon Muang Road.

Pol Lt-Col Suphachai Jantra of the Chiang mai police said it was a rental bike and they had traced it to a member of the Tai Yai ethnic minority group who is aged about 20.

He has been issued with a summons and police would be seeking the top fine for negligent and dangerous riding and not wearing a helmet.

Car or bike, they're all driving like this.

He was only looking ahead to see if the road was blocked

I take it the cop falling off his bike in Phuket won't have a 'top fine' then'?

"Netizens say the Phuket policeman was clearly drunk but the local police chief maintains ‘he was just sick’."

This is as far it has to get before police react.  Circus stunts on the road, that's the limit.

That would be oophff then?

How about the dash cam driver who upon seeing this dangerous stunt does not slow down and is basically tail gating him. Two idiots driving on the road next to each other is a recipe for a disaster.

Oh, so that's what it takes for the cops to notice when a SE Asian isn't wearing a helmet and fine them. Funny how they can tell so easily when farang don't wear them.

Obviously this was staged since there was a video made of the stunt.  Trying to go viral on YouTube!

Why so much negativity? I've been riding motor bikes since I was 13 and wouldn't dare/couldn't do that stunt. Kid has got skills, give him that. Better than riding on the pavements.
