Video: Rattle-bucket bus "going sideways" and still picking up passengers

Netizens were calling on the authorities to act after a series of video clips showed a bus in a disgraceful state travelling between Chaiyaphum and Khon Kaen in Thailand's north east.

The bus - sometimes creeping along, sometimes travelling at speed - appeared to have a severe problem with its wheel alignment.

So much so that at some points it appeared to be going along at an angle of about 30% rather than straight.

It thus appeared to virtually be going sideways.

Yet passengers were still being picked up.

77kaoded reported that many people across the provinces had seen the regular route green and orange bus and were calling for something to be done before there is a serious accident caused by the rattle-bucket.

Break failure & a few deaths pending...   But why worry about that now

'nietezens' think too mutt!!!

Seriously though... These vehicles need to be confiscated and disposed of, and the owners charged.

I have difficulty blaming the minimum wage drivers who have little choice but to drive these death traps for risk of losing their job.

I am sure it has passed all the tests..for it to be fit ,to be on the road !

Looks like it already has been in a ditch and has a twisted chassis.

A very patient driver. Waiting for the first safe chance to overtake himself.

That aint a wheel alignment issue!

Mostlikely a bad welding job whilst putting together a bus made from probably 3 written off busses?

Get it off the road immediately!

This was the news a few months ago, I am sure there must be more current problems to report.

Wrong fuel! Error of the driver of course! ????

I believe the correct expression is "crabbing"

We have already discussed so much about the situation of public transport here in Thailand, nobody does anything!

I have only one word: CRIMINALS!

All it needs is the centrebolt in the right rear spring replaced. About 200Bht

reminds me of the videos of heavy cross-wind airplane landings (crabbing). Or, maybe it's a city bus specially engineered for tight left hand turns, uh, yea, that's it, yea.

I give the driver credit  for amazing inventiveness ! In that video I can see he has  eliminated the dangerous practice of  motorcycles  undertaking !

driver looks in mirror, and is very pleased with his progress...

 - as the only traffic he sees; are all those cars Left Behind...

Is this the same bus that was filmed several weeks ago, or is the trend growing with more death trap buses showing off their skills??

This has Nothing to do with wheel alignment, we used to get that crabbing on trucks when the Centre bolt on the springs of the Rear axle breaks and the axle slides forward  a bit or backwards .  ????

This is obviously not a new problem - it has been around a while.

So in the meantime, how many police officers have actually seen or passed this vehicle and how many of those do you think would have done anything about it?

Policing at it's most finest!

Skillful driver  - and not breaking the speed limit - excellent ????

Driver is probably very happy , he can do anything, even drive sideways.

Just like this drunk bus driver that was arrested the other day.

PC Plods tea money 100 Baht.

"off you go then driver, no more fines for you today, drive carefully now"

Is this to prevent lane-splitting and undertaking?  Or maybe it helps blow more air through the windows.
