Police have warned the public not to approach three prisoners who escaped from Pattaya Provincial Court on Monday afternoon.

American, Bart Allen Helmus, and Thai nationals, Sirinapha Wiset-rit and Noi or Ton Nilthes, were due to face drug charges following their arrest in July when they managed to escape.

Helmus is accused of stabbing a guard, while Noi, who was armed with a pistol, forced others guards to give them the keys to their shackles before fleeing in a Isuzu pick up.

The incident was captured on CCTV.

Now police have launched a massive operation to locate the trio, who they describe as armed and dangerous.

Police said they should not be approached by members of the public under any circumstances.

Police added that anyone harbouring the trio can expect to face the full force of the law.

Police added that they believe the net is tightening on the suspects, who they think are heading to the border with Cambodia.

Police have set up roadblocks throughout Pattaya, Chonburi province and on multiple routes towards the border. Officers are also checking CCTV footage in Chaiyaphum, Korat and Prachinburi provinces.

Both Thai immigration and the US Embassy have been updated on the situation.

Meanwhile, an investigation has been launched to ascertain how the prisoners came to be in possession and a knife and pistol.

According to STV Pattaya, the suspects have now charged with a further 5 offences including attempted murder.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of the three prisoners is urged to contact:

Royal Thai Police Operations Center on 1599 or Pattaya police station 038-420-804.

Upps... yeah your right I am stupid! No I do know them or have anything to do with them. Hope they catch the SOBs! Just found it strange that the police would actually list the road blocks and assumed destination of these criminals!

Catch them and tie to a wall!

why does every Farang in Thailand look like frickin' Vin Diesel?

It's a fundamental component of sophisticated, state-of-the-art Thai biometrics.

the truck is about 35 kilometer north of the courthouse.

Cambodia is still a long way to the east.

Perhaps the navigation is not working and that´s the reason why they left the car ????

So the police announce they are looking for them going to Cambodia.  Guess who is now going the other way? Great police work.

Whatever made you think, they are not already in Cambodia, its only 4 hour drive. Most likely already in Siam Reap enjoying beers or possibly on the way to Vietnam via Cambodia

Doesn't Cambodia have some history of turning over Thai escapees -- when the price and circumstances are right???

Indeed, this is why i am saying could be already on the way to Vietnam.

But in the past, all runners were using their original passports so was easier to locate them. If these guys have new passports, it makes it much harder, unless Thai can pin point their precise location or know new passport names and numbers
