I am doing it.(stocking up)

I decided it is time to start and stock up on a few things, looking at the world news i believe it is only a matter of days before the government starts to panic over here and the people will follow.

I do not think there is any reason to panic but we will just have to deal with it.

We have our own water supply and a large garden, the chickens and fish can provide us with protein for a month at least and we have lots of wood to cook food on if need be.

Going out to stock up on a few things that might not be available if things grind to a halt.

Toothpaste, shampoo, tiffy, paracetamol, hygiene products and some food that can last.

Also some extra bags of chicken food, dog food and some vitamins.

Again i am not panicking but just want to be ready if we are going to be told to stay

at home for awhile.

Any one feeling the same or different?

I'm sorry you fell for the mumsnet panic, but I think you'll find that if you go down that route it's rather a big operation.

Unless you get all the essential items doesn't seem much point.

Here's the full list of what's needed from the pros:

Which is a good thing, because there are enough crazy gun owners in the world already who shoot their relatives, thinking it is a burglar.

As usual, you are totally wrong. But hey, tell us how many of those cases there are.

Personally, I have a brace of M4s set up with Rails and 3x Trijicons as well as several thousand rounds of ammo and Mag Pul magazines. No one is getting my toilet paper, canned garbanzos and sardines! Molon Labe!

And armed gangs of men with hungry families to feed will visit those preppers. In the end the preppers will die trying to defend their food.

He was innocent till conviction.

But your response shows that as usual, you are talking out your nether regions. Thats fine.

I have family in Los Angeles.

They are telling me hand sanitizer and toilet paper are difficult to find.

Most of the larger discount stores are totally out.

A minor inconvenience yes, but what will be next?

I do not think if panic sets in people will be nice and polite and sharing.

This is not like 911, where everyone gathered together.

It will be every person for themselves and their family.

Hope it does not come to that.

What about Flour, for baking cakes etc?

There is a bloke - forget his name, who could get you a kilo or 3.

Better to die on your feet than on your knees. Thats why I have sardines and garbanzos, less likely to attract marauders. They want the dude with the burgers

I get the last line of defense. With that diet, poison gas.
