Two Lao women, two Thais nabbed over prostitution charges

Immigration Police on Monday (May 25) arrested two Laotian women and two Thais for allegedly providing sexual services at a hotel in Surat Thani’s Muang district.

 

“The officers acted on a tip off that foreigners were running a prostitution business and contacting clients via Line application,” said Pol Colonel Supphareuk Phankosol, chief of Surat Thani Immigration Police. “We ran a sting operation pretending to be clients, asking for services of two women at the hotel, where undercover officers booked a room to wait for the suspects.”

 

The two Laotian women were escorted to the room by Ploypairin Chuangthip and Yotsaphon Pipatsattaya, both Thai nationals who allegedly work as the women’s agents. After paying the women Bt1,700 and Bt1,600, officers arrested all four for prostitution and running a brothel. They also reportedly seized condoms, mobile phones and lubricants as evidences.

 

The Laotians were later identified as Dam Vilaiphone and Tadam Douangdal. Three suspects, with the exception of Yotsaphon, confessed to the charges. They were later taken to the Muang Surat Thani Police Station for legal procedure.

 

“Call the Immigration Police hotline 1178 to report crimes related to foreigners,” Supphareuk said.

What i find amazing is, Pattaya plod claimed there were no prostitutes, but this lot have found some.

Is it something to do with the fact 2 of the woman are from Laos?

Or that the group were not giving plod a cut of the takings.

High time prostitution was decriminalised and the ficus put on human trafficking. Women who have to leave the North East and go and make the supreme sacrifice in Pattaya to support their families and children are heroines, not criminals.

Just as when the African ladies were kicked out of Nana, the cops usually get involved in these matters when the domestic work is being cut into. I'm sure every one of those cops has or knows of family in Issan with a working girl, from whom their periodic bank transfers are desperately needed to pay the bills.

 

Few weeks ago, the wife and I were stuck in a taxi around the CBD on Sukhumvit, and noticed many very attractive young ladies zipping by on moto taxis, in skirts a little too short for the office. Wife immediately speculated they're "making deliveries".

 

Well they gotta do something. I don't see all those offices opening their doors to welcome them as secretaries any time soon.

Using condoms should be encouraged. I hope a few Wai's and a small fine is the result of this entrapment. You just got to figure out these sex workers were stepping on a connected someone's toes.
