Prachuap embezzlement case: Only 300k of 33 million baht found so far

Police at the center of an embezzlement scandal in Prachuap Khirikhan said they know the identity of two people whose names were on checks as authorizers. 

 

The revelation comes after the home of the suspect was searched and a large amount of bankbooks, electronic cards and a checkbook were discovered.

 

No new charges have been made. 

 

Khanitha, 28, is being held on suspicion of siphoning off 33 million baht of public funds that was paid to a variety of online gambling sites.

Only 300,000 baht has been seized that was a down payment on a house being purchased by the suspect. 

 

Her husband and mother deny any knowledge of the embezzlement. 

 

Provincial commander Pol Maj-Gen Surasak Suksawaeng provided the details following a meeting of the investigation team in the case yesterday.

Amazing how people's minds works and what mindset they have when deciding to steal such large sums of money.. What? they will never find out and i'll get out of it richer and scott free leaving in lap of luxury of embezzled money and no one will be the wiser?...
