Cheap Charlie restaurant

Closed today due to PEA electrical work in the area. Open tomorrow!!

The OP can rest easy and be assured that his meager pension will just need to cover for one day of high living before reverting back to the usual economical fare. Hope you were well stocked with smelling salts.

I ate here only one time. few weeks ago, it was correct but

i was hoping low prices with ''cheap charlie'' in the restaurant name

unfortunately the average dish is around 200 bahts, maybe it's low from

a foreign point of view but not for Pattaya as you can have few better options imo

^ are you sure you went to Cheap Charlie's. I don't think they have a single dish 200+

Yes i am sure

i was unable to find only one plate at less than 100

(Except few thai dishes, that can be anyway cheaper in a Thai restaurant)

and the drinks werent cheap also.

i don't know if there is a photo of the menu somewhere

i would be pleased to verify and apologize if i am wrong

maybe my memory fails me, but i doubt it

Might have stepped in for cod,but went for pollock  Hideaway.  The Robin Hood does good haddock/cod Fridays too  249  huge amount  really good

Thank you for the photo, i was half wrong

the average price for a dish is around 150 and not 200

but with a drink (I  don't like to eat without at least

drink a small bottle of water) it's 200,

and there is only 1 dish at less than 100 (99 exactly)

so from my point of view it's not so cheap

What!! This is no cheap eating house.

A cheap restaurant would be meals for three with colas for about 200 baht.

If 50 baht is important to you why not bring a small water bottle from seven? 150 baht for a western type dish in Thailand is as cheap as it goes, especially in a highly touristic town.

If your counting your satang then try Hungry Hippo further down the street as plenty of under 99 bht specials on their menu. For me I rather spend the extra 50+ bht on Cheap Charlie as their food quality is far better in my view.

As i said i ate in ''Cheap charlie'' one time to verify if it was cheap as expected with the name

from my point of view it was not, as i paid 200 for a basic dish and a small bottle of water

so i will continue to go to few Thai restaurants where i can have a nice

tasty dish and the same small bottle of water for less than 100 bahts

but no problem, i am sure a lot are happy with the food and the prices here

and it's perfect like that

You said not thai food in your earlier post so I'm wondering where you could possibly get a western meal and a water for less than 100 baht?

I understand your point, but you can't compare a Thai restaurant serving Thai food in Thailand to a foreign restaurant serving foreign food in the same country. The service is not the same nor can the price be.

Edit: If you mean Thai restaurant serving western-type food, please show us a pic or two of what you get there for less than a 100 b, I'm curious.

As it was shut today (I normally go on Friday for the cod and chips 99 Baht with card) I went to Robin's Nest, it was also shut. So I carried on down the Soi to Kiss. Not my favorite restaurant it was only the third time in 13 years.

Cod & Chips 240 Baht. 2 glasses of wine 240 Baht. Same meal in Cheap Charlies 279 Baht total, and the wine is 250 cc.

Personally I wasn't offended about anything, just legitimately curious what you're getting for less than a 100 baht in western-ish food comparable to Cheap Charlie's (steaks, etc). Have a good one!

Yes I have been to a couple of restaurants in Pattaya (Farang) and they were much cheaper

189 baht for a 2 course meal
