The EU did no such thing. The decisions to stop were made by sovereign nations, the EU had nothing to do with this decision as the OP makes abundantly clear.

You wouldn't be suggesting that the countries in the EU are in disagreement with the EU would you ?

I’m suggesting you are incorrect in your statements about the EU.

Deliberately so.

Yes, you're lucky Trump launched operation warp speed when he did. It's really paying off now and the numbers of people being vaccinated is accelerating towards the finish line.

Once the Us is fully vaccinated then the exports can begin and many other countries will benefit from this as well by simply purchasing the vaccines from US companies.

Whilst he supposedly launched it, he ignored it and it was left to Biden and his team to take it over and make it work. They have done a great job since the inauguration and a far better job than Trump could ever do.

It is all about  leadership, team selection and teamwork. And it is about doing the best that you can for  of the people in the USA, including the ones that didn't vote for you.

A lesson that should be learned by the leadership of every country/

Why would they want to buy from the USA when there are many countries and companies in the market for sales and after sales. Some countries may be giving the vaccines away (but there will always be a comeback somewhere down the line.

Not suggesting. It’s a fact that some were. The article even states it, so maybe read it before posting.

EU countries' actions have cost many lives through these shenanigans. Had France, Holland or some other place produced it, this would not be a thing. Yes, it is political, and a continual dig at the UK. Europe all over: blame gaming, feet dragging, procrastination, red tape. Also makes me laugh, small fry like Ireland for example, who could never produce a vaccine like this though lord it up and pass like they have a huge amount of options. Whatever. Take it or leave it.

Posturing to demonstate their relevance; childish behaviour really.

I see the former Warsaw Bloc members of the EU are sourcing their own vaccines to by-pass the bungling bullies in Brussels.

Actually, it's Brexiteers and the like who contend that the EU exercises dictatorial powers over its members. Are you suggesting that this isn't the case? For shame!

I was told today that I will be getting the pfizer vaccine so am happy to be getting one of the

vaccines that have a good rep so far.  Good luck to all that are waiting for your vaccines.

Geezer

Bullies who are apparently doing nothing to stop them from procuring those vaccines. You have a very strange idea of what "bully" means.

They are trying to bully vaccine manufacturers to not export to the UK. Please try to keep up.

No, they can simply deny an export license, no need for bullying.

Isn't the UK saying 'UK first', and not exporting to the EU? So why should the EU export to the UK and not say similar 'EU first'?

It's quite interesting as:

- they were among the small countries which asked the European Commission to organise an EU wide alliance, fearing the vaccine alliance of big countries (France, Germany, Netherlands and Italy), -which had already started to make supply agreements- would get all the supply available. Without the EU alliance, they would have received zilch.

- It's also the same countries which pushed for a higher share for AZ, as it was much cheaper than Pfizer BioNtech
